New Artist - New to Pandora

Hello World!

My name is Edwin James and I am a new indie artist and new to pandora, and to be totally transparent, new to all streaming and social 😂. Been out since September 2024 with my first single Crazy. New song My Bar is dropping this Thursday, January 9th. Being the writer, artist, and promoter, sure you know the challenges. Lucky to have some exceptional musicians and one of the best recording engineers in music. Extremely Grateful.

As you also know, it takes guts to put your music out there for the world to enjoy and some to destroy 🙂. I know nothing is free and want to help others along the ride. Looking for some kind words, help and guidance. Happy 2025 and God Bless!

Thanks for sharing your music with us, @edwinjames! I enjoyed the tune - digging the pedal steel and ripping lead guitar. Solid production too. Great job for your first single!

I know it's tough out there being a musician. It's not enough to just write great tunes, you have to constantly promote yourself on multiple social networks. I've seen many bands make skits to help promote themselves too. Interesting times...

Thanks Chris. I just realized to claim my Pandora profile. It is a lot of work but I got the motivation and energy to work my algorithm 🙂. I do have a lot of appreciation for the ones that broke through. Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement!

Hi @edwinjames , definitely make sure you claim your artist name in https://amp.pandora.com ( it looks like you did because your profile photo is there) and after that claim gets approved, user the Campaigns tab tool called Featured Track, you can set up to 8 weeks of one song getting a boost in spins, per feature, and up to 6 song features per calendar year. A song has to have been released on Pandora within the last 365 days to be eligible to be featured. Also, make sure to share with your social platforms something along the lines of " If you're in United States, please start an Edwin James Radio station here: https://www.pandora.com/artist/edwin-james/ARK7nlgg3J7wvzw

You could alternately get the actual /play/ URL of an active station playing (you and other artists) by starting the station and copying the URL which gets you something like this: https://www.pandora.com/station/play/95732280554708900

Whenever you share shortURLs, make sure to put Pandora as one of the destinations, for example of one of my albums: https://album.link/soundoflight
