Song Keeps Playing After it ends

Lately, this problem keeps occurring: After a song ends, it keeps "playing" without any sound. "Dead air" may stay on for a minute or more. In other words, Pandora doesn't load the next song. The Android Auto screen displays the song and it shows the time elapsing well after the song's actual length. About the same time this problem appeared, I also noticed that after I "thumb down" a song, a long time passes before Pandora loads the next song. I don't know if these problems are related. I use Pandora only in the car, so I don't know if the problem is present when using a non-Android device.
