Android Auto: Launches and plays when connected in vehicle

It's a bit crazy that this issue has spanned multiple years, phones, and cars. I have a 2018 Kia Optima with factory stretto l stereo and have had this issue on my old Samsung S20 FE and now on my new Samsung A24. Is Pandora still working on the resolution?

To clarify, when you connect to Android Auto, Pandora launches and plays audible music or do you only see a notification appear on your screen?

It connects to the car and plays music, but after the car is shut down and
Android Auto sits down as well, if I go to the background screen on my
phone, even hours later, it will tell me pansies is running in the
background until I manually stop it.

Do you connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices, like a speaker?

What is your Android OS and your Pandora version your currently on?
