post Pandora Won't Connect To Chromecast Only in Other Devices

To Whom It May Concern:

I always play my Pandora, which is on my Samsung s24 Ultra, directly on my TV via Chromecast. Out of nowhere today, I started having issues connecting my Pandora to my Chromecast. I'll get a, "Attempting to connect...", followed immediately by, "Attempting to reconnect...", then, "Your session with device has ended".

I have restarted my phone, uninstalled Pandora, cleared cache and data, restarted my Chromecast, disconnected and reconnected my Chromecast, factory reset my Chromecast (not necessarily in that order), and the issue still remains. However, every other app that I have will connect to Chromecast whether it be YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, etc. Pandora will even connect to my vehicle.

What is going on?

Roo

Hi @RooRoo

Thanks for visiting the community!

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Chromecast. It looks like you’ve already tried quite a bit of troubleshooting, so I really appreciate you taking the time to share those details, it’s super helpful.

I do have a few additional suggestions that may be helpful:

1. Disable “Battery Optimization” for Pandora
The S24 Ultra has pretty aggressive power management. If Pandora’s background activity gets restricted—even briefly, it can interrupt the Chromecast connection.

Go to Settings > Apps > Pandora

Tap Battery

Select Unrestricted

2. Clear the Google Play Services cache
Google Play Services acts as the “middleman” for casting. If the cache gets cluttered, it can sometimes cause casting issues with specific apps.

Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services

Tap Storage > Clear Cache

Optional (more advanced):
You can also tap Manage Space > Clear All Data, but just note this may require you to re-pair Bluetooth devices or re-add cards to Google Wallet.

3. Double-check app permissions
Making sure Pandora has the right permissions can help with device discovery.

Go to Settings > Apps > Pandora > Permissions

Ensure Nearby Devices is allowed

One last quick check, are you currently using a VPN or Private DNS on your S24 Ultra? If so, try disabling those temporarily, as they can sometimes interfere with Chromecast connections.

Hope these help!
