Ideas: Equalizer

I would like to lay out why an equalizer is important in spite of the fact that Pandora presents the music the way it was recorded.

I have Apple earbuds and they are the latest version. These earbuds accentuate the sub bass and so when I listen to music, it is not representative of the way the music was recorded.The latest Apple firmware includes a three band equalizer, but that’s not enough as the bass and mid range frequencies are mixed in with each other.

If Pandora had an equalizer, I could dial in something more representative. The best example of why this is needed would be classical and jazz styles. Sub bass is not an attractive element in these genres.

I understand that the majority of listeners must like the EQ curve in a lot of the earbuds or they would not be built the way they are, but it’s frustrating for me, and I would think others as well, that I haven’t been given a choice.
