iOS: Music skips when connected to headphones

Hi, I'm using the iOS Pandora app on my iPhone 13 mini. When plugged into headphones, songs skip every time I touch the phone screen. Other audio apps, e.g. Podcasts and Spotify, do not do this so I think it is a software bug.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know how to fix it?

I've already tried deleting and reinstalling the app

I’m using the Apple headphones that connect thru the charging port

As best I can tell it only skips when the headphones are connected
