post Jukebox Joint Blues station playing indie rock in My Collection

I’m late to this thread, but am exceedingly disappointed in the elimination of the Music Genome Engine and/or previous music suggestion algorithm changes that have been made. I went on an audiobook binge for many months and only listened to my Pandora stations sporadically for a long while. Over the past month, I’ve been listening to several of my carefully groomed and long-curated stations with frustration. Seeking answers to why my specifically themed stations now play random songs from totally different genres or from different decade time slices, I found this thread.

While I’m happy to have confirmed my suspicions about a significant and apparent algorithm change, I’m now more frustrated that the Pandora team is not addressing the problem. It is really irritating, for example, to have some 80’s or 90’s punk or indie rock band show up in my Jukebox Joint Blues station. As others note here, I have continued to subscribe to Pandora for a decade now because of the value I placed on the Music Genome Engine. IMO, it worked far better than the algorithms used by other music streaming services. I, too, would pay more to have the previous algorithm restored.

It also seems that you can no longer reopen a station and scroll back to review (to thumb up or thumb down) or replay a favorite song from a previous day’s listening session. Now when I re-open the same station the next morning that history is gone.

As it stands Pandora has essentially ruined my stations. As a long-time customer, I don’t appreciate the “improvement” and am really considering cancelling my subscription. Pandora, please help us out!

@DixieGroundhog I created a new thread for you since you are reporting multiple issues.

Out of place tracks playing on Juke Joint Blues station:

I recommend checking out this thread if you are experiencing issues with hearing out of place tracks on this station (or any others): Hearing out of place tracks on station

If your station is still playing tracks that are out of place after running through the troubleshooting steps, we'd be happy to help look into it further.

The next time an out of place track plays on your station, please give the track a thumbs down and write us back with the following:

The name of the station you were listening to:

The date/time the out of place track(s) played

The name(s) of the out of place artist(s) on the station.

The title(s) of the out of place track(s) that played.

A screenshot of the out of place track playing on the now playing screen.

Were you able to give the out of place track(s) a Thumbs down?

Were you listening using a Pandora Mode like Crowd Faves, Discovery or Deep Cuts?

Unable to review listening history in same listening session:

I was unable to reproduce this on my end when looking at your account. I let a few tracks play, and was able to scroll back to review the tracks that played:

Can you please send me a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end?

Thanks for working with me on this.
