Hmmm it has been years since I listened to brutal death metal, and even when I listened to death metal on a regular basis I used to go more on the melodic side than the brutal one.

When I was in highschool I always listened to Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth (although this is more viking than melodic), Children Of Bodom, and Dark Tranquillity.

And for the brutal death metal, maybe Disgorge, Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus.

I still like them but I haven't really listened to the second ones in literal years.

If you ask me for deathcore, I will always recommend The Agonist. It has been always one of my favorites.

Lately, on the metal scene, I have been more on black metal like Mayhem, Gorgoroth or Bathory although they are kind of popular.

What are the most absolutely most brutal death metal bands and or songs I need to check out on Pandora? If you answer something like Metallica or Nickelback thats the wrong answer (you should be hit if you answer Nickelback btw) like No Pity for A Coward by Suicide or Job for a Cowboys first EP Doom, but not as well known something like the song Dragon Pie by Knights of the Abyss would excite me for sure.

I don't know if I would slip this band in the brutal death metal metal but sepultura or maybe Lamb of God would be a good start.

Admittingly, I am a bit of a Death Metal purist, just slightly haha. This grinded my gears like when people call slipknot Death Metal...just, no. Hopefully I can point you in a more Brutal direction. So, the 2 bands you listed, most would say are in the Deathcore category, not true Death Metal, definitely not truly in the Brutal category of the Death Metal subgenre. The main difference is that Deathcore bands do a lot of basic, slow breakdowns that you'd expect to hear in a Hardcore band like Hatebreed, Code Orange, Kublai Khan TX, that sort of thing. Not to mention way more utilization of midrange - high sceams. Surely you've found Whitechapel by now, just start a station from them and you'll find some more new artists within the Deathcore genre you'd like. Thy Art Is Murder, Chelsea Grin, Carnifex, Slaughter to Prevail, Lorna Shore, to name a few popular ones.

Brutal Death Metal on the other hand is significantly more... well, Brutal. Much faster, MUCH more technical, almost exclusively low/guttural style vocals. Try: Disgorge(US), Deeds of Flesh, Devourment, Putridity, Vomit The Soul, Suffocation, Nile. This is Brutal Death Metal. You'll hear a significant difference.

Cheers from Texas

"Looking for the heaviest, most underground death metal? If you’re into pure chaos and unrelenting brutality, check out tracks like 'Dragon Pie' by Knights of the Abyss or 'The Origin of Disease' by Aborted. These songs deliver the kind of raw, ear-shattering energy that makes you feel alive, even if it leaves your ears ringing for days. It’s the same kind of intensity you might feel when you’re hunting for answers on something oddly specific, like figuring out which. Brutal, relentless, and oddly satisfying in the end!"
