Greetings and welcome to the Pandora for Creators Community! This is a space to learn about AMP tools, connect with other creators and get support.

My name is Chris and I am one of the Moderators and a Lead Support Specialist on the AMP team 🙂

If you are new to Pandora for Creators, please introduce yourself! You can feel free to include:

• A link to your music and/or podcast on Pandora
• An artist that inspires you
• Your favorite AMP tool

I’m happy to kick this off!

Here is a link to my band on Pandora.

David Byrne is an artist who truly inspires me. I was fortunate enough to see him perform a few years ago and marveled at how he was able to reimagine songs I’ve heard a million times to sound fresh & exciting with new live arrangements.

The AMP tool I think is special is Artist Audio Messages. It is such a unique way to connect with your audience that can only be found on Pandora.

Once again, welcome and don’t feel shy!

Hi Chris. My name is Douglas Bales. I've been a musician for 35 years or so, mostly playing drums, but recently I stepped back up to the mic and produced an original, 2-song single that's a tribute to Joe Strummer. His work from The Clash to The Mescaleros has been a huge influence on me. Also, the music of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed has had a big impact on me.

You can check out my single here:  https://pandora.app.link/a6O3H2U35wb

I'm still trying to figure out the AMP tools, but from the webinar I watched yesterday, they all seem cool and useful. Thanks for having me aboard!

@MetalFlack  Wow! Very cool that you had a successful Featured Track campaign. It can really do wonders sometimes. Happy to hear that that feature has exposed your music to new listeners and hopefully has generated some new fans. 🤘

@n8donnis You weren't kidding - I can see that you have had music on Pandora for over 15 years! That's truly impressive and inspiring! So happy to hear you're still creating and wanting to know more about AMP. 😀

If you're feeling proactive, you can check out the AMP Playbook to learn more about the tools available to you. We will also be having some topics about these tools and more soon as well!

@Douglas-Bales this songs sounds so great! You did an incredible job channeling Joe Strummer here 😎

He is one of my favorites too and have listened to tons of The Clash over the years. I really love their creative arc as a band and particularly enjoy their experimentations with Dub. Sandinista is definitely an all-timer for me!

My name is Braddock and my artist profile is https://pandora.app.link/NWqEoul6hxb. I've been making music for almost 2 decades but recently started taking it serious again. I like to make music in all genres and just let creativity find its way.

An aartist that inspired me was Chris Cornell. He was one of the kindest people I ever met and very down to earth. His music was always impressive whether it was in bands or as a solo artist. He's greatly missed and definitely left his mark in the music industry.

I haven't looked into the Amp tools yet but I'm excited to see what they offer!

Cool stuff @Braddocklee! I appreciate the variety and arrangements in your music, the strings/piano/chord progression in "Where'd You Go?" is very powerful. Happy to hear you're making music again! 🤘

Chris Cornell was such a talent - "Badmotorfinger" is an all-timer for me. Bumping that right now in his honor!

Welcome @ElementalM! I always appreciate and hearing everyone's music so thanks for sharing yours. It reminds me of Happy Mondays in that it's got a real upbeat, joyous vibe with some "baggy" beat.

I can also definitely hear the Prince influence in there too. Prince is one of my absolute favorites, in fact, I recently rewatched his incredible halftime show. Hard to believe he actually performed "Purple Rain" during a downpour!

Hey!

I just stumbled on this as I was setting up our artists on AMP. Blank Brothers used to be a band and is now kind of a label (?) for a bunch of indie music/art projects like Local Phonies, Intranational and Conor Garrison. Good to be here

Hi @BlankBrothers ! Thanks for popping in and introducing yourself. This is a brand new community, so I am happy you found it 😎

Digging your music - Blank Brothers reminds me of a certain strain of indie-dance music like LCD Soundsystem, Caribou, Hot Chip, etc. I'm into it!

How did it morph into a label?

Thanks for checking it out! We love those artists so thats a high compliment!

Regarding our little pseudo-label...

If I'm being honest, my bandmate and I probably just don't know what we're doing. We like using different artist names for our recording projects because it gives us another artistic variable to play with.  Flexibility with the artistic identity opens us up to new creative avenues but it's a terrible way to get and maintain any kind of following, haha. So, we thought taking one of our old band names (Blank Brothers) and making it a collective for all these smaller projects would help us centralize things. It turns out that it also gives us a little sandbox to produce, collaborate with, and support other people when the opportunity arises.

I totally get this! It's tough sometimes when you want to branch out creatively but it feels like a stretch to continue putting out music under one artist/group name.

I think it's really cool to start a label under the name of your primary project to promote releases of your new projects. I also think it's an amazing idea to start putting your friends music out on this same label. That is a wonderful way to support your friends while also helping to build a local community "scene". I have known people who started labels just to help out friends that have grown into nationally recognized labels attributed to a fertile music scene.

Feel free to share releases from your label as they come out!

Hi Chris and All,

My name is Jer and I'm one of three members of the oddly-named band "Mitch the Needle" (since there's no one named Mitch in the band). We're pop/rock/synthpop with a wide variety of influences. Our band's primary shared influence is Jeff Lynne/ELO, but we love everything from Bob Dylan to Wet Leg. Favorite AMP tool is definitely Promote Single.

By the way, Chris, I listened to your music previously and enjoyed it, but it looks like your "shapes & colors" album is brand new. Checking it out now. Definitely like the feel, vocals, and production. Can hear the very creative David Byrne influence for sure.

Hi Steven, just listened to several of your compositions (including "Through the Kaleidoscope", "Dancing Spirits", and "The Shining Star"). Beautiful, emotional music with nice interplay between the hands. Thanks for sharing with us here.

Although my main musical output is as a member of the pop/rock/synthpop band Mitch the Needle, I also compose pseudo-classical piano music under my own name as Jerry Fochtmann and new age meditative piano music under the name Highcroft Peace Brigade so I really appreciate top-notch piano compositions like yours. Great to meet you as part of this community.

Hi toastedweasel

I just checked out your music under the One Onion artist name. Really liked both songs I heard with Churemi (Myopia and All The Way Down). Very cool music.
