I have the standard Pandora Plus plan. I understand that only one person at one time can listen to Pandora with the Plus plan. Not a problem. The problem is my wife will be listening to Pandora on our account, and I use CarPlay. I am not using Pandora on my CarPlay. In fact I removed Pandora completely from the CarPlay display. Yet my wife will continually get the message "Someone else is listening to your Pandora Account" with the buttons "Let me listen" and "Let them listen" when I start CarPlay. As I said, this happens when I am not using Pandora, it is not in my CarPlay display, yet when I start CarPlay for some reason Pandora acts as if I'm listening to it, which I'm not. And this happens while my wife is swimming and she understandably doesn't want to have to hop out of the pool to tap the "Let me listen" button.
My question is, why does my wife get this message when she's using Pandora, and I am not, but I am using CarPlay? Seems like a Pandora bug to me.
Hi @KonaBill
Welcome to community!
To clarify your experience, is your wife listening to Pandora on her phone or is she using a third-party device, like Sonos, a TV or smart device?
In the meantime, can you do me a favor and uninstall and reinstall Pandora on your phone. I'm wondering if there is something cached, that may be accidentally tripping the message. Please note that as a Pandora Plus subscribers, this will remove any offline content you may have. However, this content should automatically download once again.
I've also enabled a trace on your account to help me take a closer look. After you uninstall/reinstall the app and you run into the experience again, let me know. Be sure to include date, time and your timezone.
Thanks for your help!
My wife is listening to Pandora on her phone. I'll uninstall and install Pandora on my phone and see what happens. Thanks,
Bill
Thanks @KonaBill.
Please let us know how it goes.
I did a test today and so far it's working fine. I'll continue testing and let you know. Thanks for your help.
I did another test today. My wife was at home, listening to Pandora. I took off in the car, and started CarPlay without starting Pandora. However, my wife immediately received two notices that someone else was listening to Pandora, and she had to stop and tap "let me listen." I still don't understand why she gets these messages when I am not using Pandora, I am just using Apple CarPlay. If I disconnect CarPlay she stops getting the messages. Why does this happen?
@KonaBill If you're seeing the message, "Your Pandora Account is currently playing on another device," or "Someone else is listening," it means that multiple devices are streaming from your account simultaneously.
While your Pandora account can be logged into as many devices as you like, they can't be playing at the same time.
If you haven't already, I'd recommend creating a second Pandora account.
If you already have an additional account, could you confirm you're logged into your individual accounts?
I look forward to hearing back.
Wow, I really really wish you would read my posts. I have repeatedly said I am not listening to Pandora when my wife gets the message. She is the only (sole, no one else) person listening to Pandora. All I do is start CarPlay, and then my wife gets the message. I shall repeat, I am NOT using Pandora. All I do is start CarPlay, and then my wife gets the message. I quite CarPlay and she no longer gets the message. I am not sure how I can make this any clearer. It would save a lot of time and aggravation if you actually read my posts.
@KonaBill I would like to report this issue to our engineers. Could you tell me more about your devices?
1. Device & Generation: (e.g. iPhone X, iPad Air (3rd gen), etc.)
2. Carrier:
3. iOS version: (Settings > General > About > Version)
4. Pandora version: (Pandora > Profile tab > Settings gear & scroll to the bottom of the screen)
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?
Thanks for your help with this.

Any updates on this? Anything else I can try? Deleting the app from my device works but I was hoping for a better solution.
