Potentially catastrophic winter storm threatens over 30 states, prompts Winter Storm Watches for mil

Good Wednesday afternoon, dear friend, and especially to those in the South and Southeast of the United States.

I’ve been monitoring a high‑potential winter weather threat for the past two days, and it now appears increasingly likely to unfold. Some areas may begin seeing impacts as early as late Thursday night, with the system continuing through Monday and reaching my part of the Northeast by then.

I’ve lived through some extremely dangerous winter storms, including the 1998 ice storm that devastated the Northeast and parts of Canada. That storm brought down major transmission towers, snapped power poles in half, and left some communities without electricity for up to six months. My family was fortunate — we were without power for “only” five days.

This upcoming event deserves to be taken seriously. While those of us in the Northeast are generally more accustomed to winter storms, the level of icing being forecast for many regions is far beyond what most people are prepared for. Current projections call for 0.25 to 0.75 inches of ice, with the possibility of even higher amounts. For comparison, the 1998 storm produced 0.57 to 1.0 inches in some northern areas, including places like Plattsburgh.

Please stay alert, stay prepared, and take this threat seriously. My reason for concern was at first for my sister, who will be affected, so I decided to share with all of you here as well.

(While there are many sources, I will share this one. Historic winter storm spans US; Northeast snow potential still uncertain | FOX 5 New York)

Take care dear friends, and GOD bless.

Thank you for sharing this. I looked at the weather for my area and I saw that I might get snow starting about 3:00 am on Friday.

Stay warm and safe everyone.
