What are the guidelines for indie rock, cause it seems that there aren't really?

@bigguy you're right, but I did find this more defined explanation about Indie genre on line.

Element: The "Indie" GuidelineWhy It's DoneVocalsDry and intimate. Use short room reverbs, tape saturation, or quick slap delays rather than massive, lush hall reverbs. Keeps the singer feeling like they are standing in the room with the listener.Guitars Mid-range heavy and "crunchy." Low frequencies are rolled off to prevent muddiness, while overdrive or fuzz pedal textures dominate. Drives the melodic hook of the song without mimicking clean pop or heavy metal tones. Bass & DrumsSteady, driving, and center-focused. The bass often plays independent melodic lines rather than just copying the guitar chords. Forms a tight, rhythmic skeleton that anchors the song. Song Structure Unconventional or wandering. Tracks might entirely omit a traditional chorus, rely heavily on a repeating pentatonic riff, or build into a chaotic "wall of sound". Prioritizes mood, tension, and emotional payout over predictable pop structure.

Take care, and GOD bless.
