Desktop: Unable to Add Songs to Playlist

Suddenly I cannot add songs from inside a playlist on the desktop app or webpage.

I have to go out and do a normal search and add that way. An extra step or two where it used to be so easy to add from inside.

I just tried it on the desktop app and it does not work there either. wow. I am using Windows 10 - Thanks for working to resolve this problem.

I am unable to add songs to some existing playlists since scrolling is not working in the select playlist box, and the little up and down arrows are greyed out as the screenshot shows.Playlist2.jpg

Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening?

Are you listening from:

  • A Mac or Windows computer?
  • Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?

I have a total of 8 playlists; but only 4 are shown in the add to playlist box, since it will not scroll down to see the other 4. This is shown in the screenshot. I cannot add to the other 4 playlists like I used to since they cannot be seen in the add to playlist box.
Windows 10 PC, your website, google chrome browser, and also tried Firefox with no success.

Just to confirm, are you able to hover over the playlist box in order to scroll (rather than use the arrows)?

Another option is to try using the desktop application on your computer to see if that works for you. You can find out more information about how it works here.

the desktop does not allow me to scroll using the arrows either. The problem happens online and using the desktop app

I started a few playlists, but when I try to "add song to playlist," only 3 of my playlists show up, and the fourth option is to create a new playlist. When I go to my collection there are more playlists. Looks like I'm supposed to be able to scroll through "my playlists" while adding adding a new song, but there's some glitch. Thanks.

Looks like you have about 5 playlists associated with your Pandora account.

Are you able to hover over the playlist box in order to scroll (rather than use the arrows)?

  • How are you listening when this happens?
  • Are you using a PC or a MAC computer?
  • Are you on the Pandora Desktop app? Or, a web browser?

Wow that was a fast response! I'm using Windows 10, and Firefox browser. I know what you mean about hovering over, but it won't allow it. The scrolling arrows are dull and not dark, which usually means there's nothing to scroll through (if that makes any sense).

@dom333 I would recommend running through the standard troubleshooting steps for your Firefox browser to see if it helps with adding songs to your playlist. You can find those steps here: Firefox Troubleshooting

An alternative is to try using the desktop application on your computer to see if that works for you. You can find out more information about how it works here.

I am sick of this!!!!! It is so annoying to the point I am about to cancel my sub and go somewhere else.  It's not a huge deal but so **ahem** annoying and the fact that there's no volume control.  Pandora lucky u guys got the heat but u ain't the only ones bout to hit up a new music app.  Everyday seriously no joke every single day pandora something goes wrong and adding songs to Playlist is the icing off my cake foos It doesn't work correctly is the problem.  I try to add songs to my Playlist sometimes work so.etimes doesn't.  Pandora may say it's already added but it's not and it allows me to add the same song multiple times so I might have songs duplicate just because I didn't realize I already had it.  And PANDORA LISTEN TO ME WHERE THE H IS THE OPTION TO REMOVE A SONG FROM PLAYLIST LIKE WHHHAAAAAA GOT IT MESSED UP

Happens to me for any Playlist at what seems like any given time.  Sometimes I push the Playlist about 100 times it works sometimes I get an error sometimes absolutely nothing at all.  And again PLEASE ADD FUNCTION TO REMOVE SONGS FROM PLAYLISTS !!!!!!!!

Also forgot to mention it works perfectly normal other times

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. Thanks for letting us know about your experience.

Editing a Playlist from a Computer:

To edit a playlist, go to My Collection and click the album art or title of the playlist you'd like to edit.

  • From here you can rename your playlist, add or remove songs, or reorder your playlist.
  • To remove individual songs click the ellipsis (three dots) to the right of the song title and scroll down to Remove from Playlist on the sub-menu.
  • To change the position of a song, click and hold the song you'd like to move and drag it into the desired position.

You also mentioned having issues during your listening sessions, and receiving an error message.

  • How are you listening when this happens? Are you using a web browser? If so, which one?
  • Or, are you using the Pandora Desktop app on a PC or Mac?
  • What exactly does the error message say?

I cannot add songs to some of my playlists because only 6 playlists show when I click on "add to playlist" and scrolling is not available. I am using a MacOS Big Sur.

Hi,
I don't know how long this has been an issue because until recently I didn't have more than 5 playlists. I use Chrome browser but I also tried with Safari and encountered the same problem.

  • Could you confirm whether you're you using a mouse or a touchpad on a laptop when this happens?
  • Are you able to hover over the pop-up where your playlists are listed and scroll (not using the arrows to the side)?

I have tried both mouse and mousepad on laptop when this happens. I don't have any pop-up when I hover over stations. I have gone into Chrome and added pandora.com to sites that allow pop-ups but that did not work.

Sorry for any confusion regarding my last post, @LauraBlue. I edited my post to mention "playlists" rather than stations. Typically when adding a song to a playlist, that pop up will appear and you'll need to hover over it scroll down to see other playlist options rather than use the arrows that appear. 

Another option is to go directly to the playlist you'd like to add a song to, and enter the song you'd like to add in the search field.
