Music Stops When Listening to Albums + Playlists

ChipStewart
Underground

I have a similar problem, but don't even get to hear one song.  When I click on a station, I have no problems, but when I click on an album, I have to watch a video, then the album shows as playing, the slider moves in real-time, but there is no audio.

Hi, @pnh69999. 👋

I understand your frustration.

In the meantime, I've created an internal ticket with our device and engineering team so that they can investigate this further.

Please provide the following information so I can pass it along on your behalf:

  • From what you've noticed, does this happen with any album you select? Or, does this happen with specific albums/playlists?
  • Do any error messages appear when you attempt to play the album?

Thanks for your help with this. 🎧

Hi, @Lovewolfie @Listener001. 👋

Yes, there can be a limit for the amount of complimentary sessions of Premium. Due to licensing restrictions, we have to limit the number of Premium Access sessions per person. If you're hitting a limit, it means you've used quite a few of these sessions lately.

Regarding your issue, I've gone ahead and pass this information along to our engineering team. I've also moved your post into this existing thread as other community members are mentioning a very similar issue: Playback stops when listening to albums + playlists

Thanks for your patience while our team investigates. 🎧

It happens on any album and any playlist. i have tried deleting them and rebuilding my playlist and other peoples playlists wont play either. Windows 10 on chrome and MS edge has same issue. Deleted history & cookies. Restarted computer, reset modem, signed out , signed in and more. I have also made sure i dont have any other pandora apps going on my phone, tablet or other computers. Im pretty sure its on Pandora's end. Stations play fine. I have not seen any error messages. Thank you!😁

Exactly my problem too. One blip of the song and goes silent.

I listen for about 3 - 4 hours per day. Mainly albums and playlists. If there is a limit, what would it be? I am a premium subscriber and wasnt aware of any limits. Ive have Pandora for years and played daily nearly constant for 6-8 hours and never had an issue until recently. So whats the limit? How can we monitor it?

Hi there, @pnh69999. 👋

There is only a limitation for Premium sessions. Since you're already a Premium subscriber - this wouldn't impact you. You can find out more about how the complimentary sessions work in this helpful article.

I understand how frustrating this can be. In the meantime, I've gone ahead and shared your feedback / experience with our engineering team on an internal ticket we have open for this issue.

Thanks for your patience during this process! 🎧

The Pandora App only plays one song before sound frezzes but the app plays on graphicly. timer contines and displays new content but no sound.

Thanks for getting back to me......

TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS......

1-     It would initially load playing a song from whatever I was last listening to on my cell and thats fine. But when on my PC,  whenever I would select ANYTHING else (saved Album, Station or Playlist)  it would play only for 1-2 seconds then stop with the indicators still showing music was playing;

BUT.....    again I've NEVER had a problem with listening off my cell ph and I use that the most to stream from cell to car stereo bluetooth.  (ITS A "MUST" THAT I BE ABLE TO DO THAT).

2-   No error messages

3-   Windows.   I have two laptops,  one with Win-7 Ultimate and the other much newer with Win-10    and both do the same thing in regard to not being able to listen.

4-  On both laptops I use the website to log in.    (I also have a Amazon Fire TV and will try the app on that tomorrow.

5-  I use Chrome on both machines altho on my older machine I also have "Opera" and it does the same thing.

I should mention that a day ago,  I had my IP company upgrade my equip (modem & router)     I went from a  30mp download & 5mp upload to   400mp download & 20mp upload and tonight,  just before reading your reply....    it seems to work as its supposed to.      I'm wondering if the connection with the slower speed had anything to cause this.....    Before with my slow WiFi home signal it worked fine from my cell phone app  (but it also connects to the apps and web from the cell ph data plan)  FYI  I use T-Mobile and its unlimited.       I don't know what causes this on my PCs   but as of this minute.....    its working,   or at least for now and the only thing that changed was my WiFi speed.

Let the engenering team know that I just checked My Amazon Fire TV App and its working as it should,  but then....   this is with my new fast speed modem.....  (didn't check it prior to my modem upgrade).

But Pandora is still working good also on my PC which leads me to believe that this problem I had with it not playing on my PC was possibly caused by a slow WiFi modem speed....    but I'm not sure,  but for now,  I know that with the high speed, Pandora is working (and I'm happy).      You might want to mention the modem speed as a possible solution to others that are having the same problem.        Thanks

So frustrating. Just switched to Pandora and regretting it daily. Playlists randomly stop. I click next track and it'll start at like 3:35 on the next track or some random point at the end. I have video of this happening constantly. I've gone through all the troubleshooting tips, cleared the browser, restated the device. It shouldn't be this difficult to listen to music. I never had such issues with Spotify. Help!

Hi there, @D-Rock. 👋

Thanks so much for reporting this. I understand your frustration.

I moved your post over to this existing thread: Music Stops When Listening to Albums + Playlists

This issue is currently on our engineering team's radar and we have an internal ticket open for this.

  • Could you confirm whether this happens when you use another browser?
  • Or, does this just occur with Chrome?
  • Also, are you running another program when this occurs, such as Adobe software?

Let me know, and I can report your specific experience. 🎧

Hi there, @angelbears1230. 👋

Sorry to hear that you're encountering this issue as well. I've checked in with our team and it looks like you're already working with a User Support specialist via email. I do see that they sent over some troubleshooting steps for you to try. If you don't see their email yet, please check your spam / junk folder to make sure it didn't end up there.

I would recommend following up with this specialist as they've reported your issue.

Thanks for your patience during this process. 🎧

Pandora, where you at on this? It makes for such a frustrating listening experience. So much so that I've moved from using my free three months, to the paid Spotify. Of all the things that are challenging about our world right now, simply wanting to listen to music shouldn't be an additional source of frustration, it should be the opposite.

Agree with everyone here! This is very frustrating indeed.

I have been a Pandora member for MANY years, on just the Plus plan, and was VERY happy with it. Listened to it all day on my Mac, on Safari, desktop. Or on my iPad app (it was a good friend during months of chemotherapy).  I created my own stations, based on favorite artists, and found some nice stations that others had created.

Over years and years, I curated via thumbs up and down, and had some very nice mixes that I listened to all day. Again: mostly on my desktop, Mac, via Safari.

Then about a month or two back, my favorite station started playing music that did not fit my  profile. Not only that, but my main artist would get one cut or two, then suddenly I could not get ANY from that artist. The entire station, one that I created, was haywire, and I kept having to stop and skip, and skip, until I just quit. HORRIBLE.

When I complained, you all talked me into switching to the more expensive Premium. Not only is the problem not fixed, and I am still getting horrible selections on my station, but while I am able to now play an album by my artist, THAT'S IT. No more, and instead, these weird selections that I dislike.

And now, I am having the sound cutting out, like people here are describing. I see from the sound icon that it thinks it's playing, but there is no sound. If I sit here and do nothing, after about 10 minutes, I'll get a random 3 to 5 second bit of music, then gone again for 10 to 15 minutes.

This is happening both on albums (of the artist that I created, so I could at least listen sometimes), as well as publicly and personally created stations.

There is nothing wrong with my connection (everything else I do is zipping right along). There is nothing wrong with my speakers or my OS or my computer. It's Pandora.

And I am very, very frustrated at this point. Especially unhappy that I am paying more for even less, and ready to completely bail (except I really don't care for Spotify).

Pandora has been important to me in stress management. Now it is a stressor. Very unhappy.
