I have to disagree with you there mate, it's been at least five years that they have been playing this charade with us, listening to our suggestions and promising to pass them on to the engineering dept. In the meantime they can't even keep the software they have, running. Every day now Pandora freezes for no reason at all and I have to restart it to get my music going again. I live in a 55 and older Active Living Community and every time I visit the lodge I ask one of the office staff to play Pandora background music over the speakers and about 50% of the time they are unable to get Pandora to work.
There are better choices out in the digital world. There are also 3rd party apps that will sort and find duplicates in playlists. Sp0t1fy is my favorite and I have seen it get better. My wife loves pandora but I do not use despite having family plan.
I have used Pandora for a long time and have over 300 custom playlists built so I know the pain first hand of the lacking of basic features. I started using spotify and will fully migrate over eventually. I hate to have to migrate because I've put a lot of work into my playlists!
As a Pandora Premium subscriber I find it absolutely mind-boggling and ludicrous that I cannot find a sort feature for my playlists on my mobile Android app. The web base Pandora has the sort option but I cannot locate one on my app. Is there truly no sort feature on the apps? This is a basic basic option that if not available Pandora needs to get busy on.
It would be nice to have a feature that mimics a dj that would play requests that you would input from your saved music or favorites. Also a setting where you can set up a dj to use for house parties or celebrations by decade, theme, music style.
Pandora does not care! Live with it the way it is or move to another platform because pandora will not do anything to enhance the functionality of the app!
Maybe I misunderstand the question, but I have some long playlists (see screenshot of list A-L with 4,000+ songs below:
As you can see by the following image, all my lists are alphabetized by artist and song via a drag/drop method.
How to:
1) Open playlist
2) Left click on a song title and hold
3) Drag the file up toward the search box to reposition the song (upward) in the list.
As the file is dragged nearer the SEARCH box, up-scrolling will start and increase/in speed. Dragging the file to far above the search box will stop the scrolling, so the file's proximity to the search box is a key factor. To reposition a song lower on the play list, use same left click/hold/drag toward bottom of the window.
You must stop the scroll feature by repositioning the mouse before you drop the file or it will return to it's starting position. To drop the file, release the left mouse button.
I use a Linux OS, so I am unsure if this feature works with Windows.
I find it very difficult to believe that you could possibly organise a 4000 player list by using the method you described where you are dragging one file at a time to the top of the window. I guess if you have nothing else to do but sit there hour after hour for days at a time then maybe you could accomplish it and I say maybe because frankly mate I don't believe you did it at all.
