Manually add thumbs up for select songs to stations

Looking for some way to be able to manually add songs to the thumbs up listing for a particular station so we can proactively fine tune a station more quickly.

I know we can use the Add Variety option to give a station a better starting direction, but this does not seem to add as good of a direction as thumbs up does. Additionally, even if we load up a new station with a bunch of directional songs like this, we wind up needing to go through the thumbs up process for these same songs as they naturally come up over time, which takes up unecessary time.

Alternatively, having the option for songs that we add to a station using the Add Variety feature to automatically add these songs to the thumbs up list could accomplish a similar goal.

One of the ways that would be great to be able to do this would be to add it to the menu of options that you get when clicking on the ... for a song. Make it kind of similar to the "Add to Playlist" option that then has a sub menu to what playlist to add the song to, but instead have it be "Add Thumbs Up to Station" then a sub menu pops up for you to select the appropriate station.

This would take music discovery to the next level. When a cool song from a band that is new to me pops up, I like to dig in and discover additional songs from them. There are a lot of occassions where I would love to have one of these songs that have not popped up on my station yet become a thumbs up song immediately.

This would be a really nice feature. Pandora is great at personalizing music to my preferences but the challenge is it doesn't know what it doesn't know. This feature could close the gap.

I'd love to be able to manually add songs as a thumbs up to bring in a favorite artist, push a genre station in a new direction, or just capture a favorite song that the station hasn't played. I've been trying to get my top station to pick up some of my faves for a year and it still hasn't picked up some of them.

It would be helpful if we could go directly to a song and call up the menu to add the song as a thumbs up to a selected station, just like adding it to a playlist. The Add Variety feature sometimes struggles to guess which song I'm trying to add as a seed.

I don't like adding more stuff to the "add variety" part. Many of my stations have well over a 100 seeds, which makes my computer, which isn't all that powerful slow. When adding variety, keep the seeds: artist, album, and song separate such that they don't slow things down as much. I also remember the old days where add variety became such an issue that I trimmed many of my station lists because I wanted to see the seeds and they were so slow loading. Then Pandora, sped up and this became less of a problem.

this is a superb idea and would take pandora to new heights. I've been wanting something like this for the longest time as it takes me months, sometimes, to get certain songs to play on a station so I can thumb them up, especially ona station that is well-established and has a lot of thumbs up already.

It is a shame that something like this has still not been added after originally requesting this over 2 years ago now. It is relatively less frustrating compared to my other open feature request, which is for the ability to scrub through songs in normal Station listening mode for Premium subscribers.

The lack of these two unmet needs has caused me to cancel my Premium subscription and transition over to Spotify. I believe this will likely be so long farewell to a paid Pandora subscription. Once I get hooked to the competition, I don't believe there will be a compelling enough case to come back.

This really needs to be added.

I'm trying to get the Sabaton song "Fields of Verdun" on my thumbs up for my rock station. Pandora won't play it even though it's in the catalog. I can play it on demand, but it just won't come up on my station.

I've taken drastic measures. I've change the seed for the station to just Sabaton and, eventually, just that song. I now play it on Artist Only mode. Other than their songs that I have thumbed up, I thumb down every song. I'm at the point where it will now only play my ~9 thumbed up songs and a couple of randoms before telling me there's no more music.

Just let me add a song to my thumbs up and, when added, let the algo detect "hey, he likes this song, I should play it once in awhile!"

And on that note, songs that I use as seeds are songs that I like. As it stands, Pandora does not play seed songs, only similar songs. That's a huge oversight and needs to be fixed.

If the solution is to "just make a playlist," I've got news for you.

1. I can do that on Spotify with a larger catalog.
2. Pandora's strength is its radio feature. Playlists are a good side-gig for when I want specific songs, but they shouldn't be the main feature.
