Ringo Starr was much more than the Fab Four's drummer. He is a songwriter and a singer who usually sang lead on at least one song for each Beatles' album. He's also done some acting and he is the father of Zak Starkey, another famous drummer. Ringo also may have inadvertently recorded the first country rock song. Since the Ringo sung Beatles cover of Buck Owens' "Act Naturally" came out in 1965, it could be argued that the drummer recorded a country rock song before The Byrds' cover of Porter Wagoner's "Satisfied Mind" (long thought to be the first country rock song) came out - also predating both Gram Parsons' and Michael Nesmith's contributions to country rock. This playlist celebrates Ringo with that song as well as all the other songs that make Ringo one of the most loved Beatles among ardent Fab Four fans.
