Hello! I am experiencing the same issues. In my settings, I do not allow explicit content, yet it still plays. Definitely not my favorite since my 10 year old listens from my account.

Thank you for taking the time to report this!
I found the same thing. I have my setting on clean but on random songs it does not play the clean version. Not good when I listen at work!
@drjeffie5 We're happy to look into this further.
The next time this happens, please thumb down the explicit track(s), and make sure to grab a screenshot(s) of the now playing screen.
Once that is done, can you please follow up with the requested info below?
Thanks for working with me on this. 🤝
This setting does not work!! I are a business with kids all the time so we obviously we dont want explicit content. It was in the "Off" position and we had songs with the "N" word as well as sexual words. This was on the NSync station and we were surprised and disgusted as well as embarrassed.
Hi there, @office9627. 👋
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the explicit filter. I completely understand where you're coming from.

Let me know. 🎧
I set explicit content to OFF and just got an earful of lyrics with F bombs. This filter does absolutely nothing! What the heck, Pandora?! Can you please fix this ASAP? I just installed this app for my young children and there's no way they are using it.
@TaliaK I'm happy to look into this.

Hi Adam,
I am using Pandora through my Google Home device and am experiencing the same issue with explicit content when it is turned off in my account. Below are the commands I have been using and the results I have been given.
“Hey google play The certified lover boy album by Drake”“Hey google play Music to be murdered by album by Eminem”
“Hey google play CeeLo Green”
@KevinHerm The explicit filter will only apply to songs that play on your stations; it doesn't apply to on demand content you attempt to play (such as specific songs/albums), playlists you create, or those created for you by Pandora. Also, It doesn't apply to podcasts.
When you're curating playlists or searching for songs, you can identify explicit tracks by a red "E" label. To keep explicit songs or podcasts from your collection, avoid adding those with that label.
If you were to give a command such as “Hey Google, play Drake Radio” then you should only receive censored versions of songs.
In the meantime, I've made a note of your experience for our product team to consider.
I have since stopped using Pandora. But one of the songs we heard with an F Bomb is James Blunt, You're Beautiful.
Thanks for following up with this info, @TaliaK.
I will make sure to let our curation team know so they can further investigate.
Ok thank you for your explanation!
I am having the same issue it just started the last few weeks. Its bad as i have young kids and its coming through on most songs now. I have varied my explicit filter is on but and this is a big issue for me.
Always happy to help, @KevinHerm. 🤝
@HellandA I'd like to see a specific example of the the next time this happens.
Although you provided some song titles, it's hard to tell what stations these played on, or if you actually thumbed them down.
The next time this happens, please thumb down the explicit track(s), and make sure to grab a screenshot(s) of the now playing screen.
Thumbing down the track will only prevent the explicit version from playing again - it won't have an effect on the edited version of the track from playing.
Once that is done, can you please follow up with the requested info below?
I am going to need all of this info including the screenshots before I can further assist.
Thanks again for working with us on this. 🤝
Hi I'm having this problem too. Im on Android.
It happens all the time. The most recent one was monsters by all time low, doing the 'f*** up my life' instead of the radio version of 'ruin my life'... how do i get Pandora to play radio versions only?
It always happens on any station. Sometimes it'll play radio version and sometimes it'll play the explicit one. It was happening all the way back in 2013 with 'motherf***ing animals' song in the monstercat album and still never got fixed. I hate finding out that there's more swears in my favorite songs than expected all because for some reason the filter isnt working.
Thanks for reporting this, @ScarletteFoxx.
I have escalated this over to our curation team for further review.
I just had this happen to me also:

Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
Hi, I would like to make a similar issue. My sister who’s on the same premium account plays the “Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout” but has explicit lyrics restricted. It’s still playing explicit lyrics.
Any thoughts or reasons on how to solve this? Thanks!
