DirecTV: Playback skips to next track after approximately 1-2 minutes

For three weeks now Pandora stops mid way in every song and switches to the next song. Its been three weeks now. No help from Pandora. They blame the TV manufacturing or the cable company.

DirecTv HR44/500 receiver, software 0x1bdd (update 3/7 3:49a)

I listen to Pandora through a Directv account.  For the past week, every time a song plays, it only plays

about half of the song, then switches to another one, which also only plays about half....and on and on.

What's the problem?

  • DirecTV Receiver Model: (Example: Model: Genie HR54/500)
  • DirecTV software version: (Example: Software version OX1bdd)

You can find your receiver make and model in Settings > Device Management > Info & Test

I'm having the same issue.

Here's the info on my DirecTV:

Receiver Model HR44/700.
Software Version: 0x1bdd, Fri 3/7, 3:48a.

I sure hope you can help find a solution soon. I sure miss listening in the evenings while reading.

I'm having the same problem. There has to be an issue with the DTV and Pandora. All my other audio access is working. No one seems to have an answer to this at this time.

All, I just got off the phone with DTV.

There response is that they are aware of the issues and their engineers for APPs are working on the skipping issue at this time.

The tech support could not give me any more information at this time due to it being an ongoing issue with the Pandora APP.

DTV basically had no new information and they would send me an email with any updates for the ongoing Pandora APP issue.

Just an FYI, also this seems to be an issue on my Sony TV, but I am not having issues with one of my other TVs, which is a Hisense TV.

According to DTV they are working on the song skipping issue. No time line for the fix and that was as of today, 11 Mar 2025

I have one better it plays fine on my bedroom DirectTV remote box which is connected through the main Genie which is the one that plays half songs.

I am having same issue. Started around march 6. This is definitely a pandora issue. Reboot receiver does nothing. I had same issue on phone and car at same time. Reinstalled app corrected those. No way to reinstall on directv.

Just to keep this going. My Pandora for the last 2 to 3 weeks will skip to the next song at approximately 45 seconds. 

I listen to Pandora/DirecTV most every day until it decided to do this. Have switched to my phone Pandora app, which works fine. I check back every once in a while to see if it is working. It is not.

I am having this problem as well!

It's really frustrating and its impossible to enjoy music this way, I think everyone would agree.

To the pandora tech department, "was an update to our directv pandora app recently done by you?"

If so, can it be removed? Can a new update to our apo fix this quickly?

Also, will you contact us to let us know its fixed?

We are now not using the app, again, its not enjoyable.๐Ÿ˜‘

Same issue here. I am located in the Sacramento area. I have a Samsung smart TV. I have wired DirecTV, and this problem just started happening about a week or two ago. It is not a Wi-Fi issue, as my phone will play Pandora just fine on my home's network.

DirecTV equipment:

Receiver: HR44-200

Receiver C51-100

 

This started fairly recently, within the last 2 weeks. And it is only happening on my Samsung Smart TV. I will put on Pandora to a channel I want to listen to and when the song gets to about a minute to a minute 30 it skips to the next song. There is no error message there is nothing just skipping to the next song. It is incredibly irritating.

I am located in the Sacramento area. I have wired DirecTV. when I use Pandora on my Android phone there is not a problem and all channels play without issue. It is through the DirecTV app that this is happening.

I see that this has been an issue several times in the past through pandora. It would be lovely if you could fix this glitch.

I am having the exact same issue with the pandora app skipping songs on my directv satellite service.  I have no problem listening to it online.  Would someone from pandora please contact directv to get this problem corrected?  Apparently, this is not a random glitch when so many of us are experiencing the same issue!

worked fine for years on my Samsung 6500 with same DVR, 2 other units on genie work fine. Started a week ago, half songs, used the Pandora app on the tv and no problems.
