Pop: Foolish Games by Jewel.   https://pandora.app.link/1hevyahfIab"Foolish Games"/"You Were Meant for Me" ranked at number 15 on Billboard's All-Time Top 100 and held the record in the Guinness Book of World Records for longest chart run of a single for "Foolish Games"/"You Were Meant for Me", which charted for 65 weeks. (Side note). This is my favorite overall song, as well as the artist. 

Easy Listening: Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers.    https://pandora.app.link/Dc5m2aGfIab   The repertoire included some of the Righteous Brothers' best-known songs, such as "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "Soul & Inspiration," "Unchained Melody", but also the later "Rock and Roll Heaven", as well as Bill Medley's "The Time of My Life".

Christian/ Christian Contemporary: How Can It Be by Lauren Daigle.  https://pandora.app.link/NaW39ulgIab   Lauren Ashley Daigle was born on September 9, 1991. Daigle grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana in an environment of zydeco, Cajun, and blues music.

Rock/ Rock-n-Roll: She Talks To Angels by The Black Crowes.  https://pandora.app.link/4UlhkOXgIab   This is regarded by many as The Black Crowes' best and well-known song. It hit number one on the US Album Rock Tracks chart and number 70 on the UK Singles Chart in 1991. The eighth track on The Black Crowes ‘ 1990 album Shake Your Money Maker and one of the singles from the album.

A simple yet heartbreaking song, “You Were Meant For Me” follows a young woman as she tries to get through the day without her ex, clinging onto her hope that he/she will realize that they were meant for each other. The song was a hit for Jewel, and is off of her first album Pieces of You.

Here are my GSOTD choices on this beautiful snowy Tuesday in Up-State N.Y. Enjoy the music.

Blues Rock: Angel Eyes by The Jeff Healey Band.  https://pandora.app.link/80gdEhrfCcb Norman Jeffrey Healey was a Canadian jazz and blues-rock vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who attained musical and personal popularity, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s. He hit Number 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Angel Eyes" and reached the Top 10 in Canada with the songs "I Think I Love You Too Much" and "How Long Can a Man Be Strong".

Hard Rock: Dream On by Aerosmith.  https://pandora.app.link/7ECzUkEfCcb " DreamOn " is a power ballad by Aerosmith from their 1973 debut album, Aerosmith. Written by lead singer Steven Tyler, this song was their first major hit and became a classic rock radio staple.

Indie Folk: Riptide by Vance Joy.  https://pandora.app.link/hVAfqmNfCcb Vance Joy (born James Keogh in Melbourne) is an Australian singer-songwriter. His debut album God Loves You When You're Dancing was released in March 2013. Folk Rock: Look On Down From The Bridge by Mazzy Star.  https://pandora.app.link/m9bGxibVIcb About “Look on Down from the Bridge”. The narrator compares looking down while in free-fall rather than looking up, to looking away from home when leaving it. The song is played in the final scene of the episode “Rick Potion #9” of Adult Swim’s comic series Rick and Morty (Season 1, Episode 6).

Pop: What's Simple Is True by Jewel.  https://pandora.app.link/EY6UZInVIcb Kilcher began writing material for Spirit after the release of Pieces of You in 1995. In 1996, she recorded six songs with producer Peter Collins, but scrapped the tracks after singles from her debut album, Pieces of You, began to receive significant radio play. In a 1998 interview, she divulged that the song "Fat Boy" was written about a boy she grew up with who committed suicide on her family's property in Alaska.
