My GSOTD selections for this Thursday. Enjoy the music.

New Age Black Velvet Flirt by Deuter.  https://pandora.app.link/HvVm5Wl0Mdb

Deuter has learned (and arguably mastered) [citation needed] an ever-expanding array of instruments, including the drums, the shakuhachi flute, the koto, sitar, Tibetan singing bowls, santoor, bouzouki, piano and keyboard. He has recorded and released over 60 albums and claims to have sold more than he can count during the course of his career.

Celtic: The English Ladye and the Knight by Loreena McKennitt.  https://pandora.app.link/YakoHeD0Mdb

In the song "An English Ladye", this is a segment of a very long narrative poem by Sir Walter Scott called The Lay of the Last Minstrel and what fascinated me by this corner of this long narrative, it's situated at Carlisle Castle. Now, Carlisle Castle is built on an ancient Celtic settlement site so there was that kind of Celtic archaeological moment. But also in the story it reflects upon a sort of Romeo and Juliet story where a Scottish knight falls in love with an English woman, and follows a theme that love often transcends cultural barriers.

Pop: True Colors by Cyndi Lauper.  https://pandora.app.link/wml4ndM1Mdb

"True Colors" is a song written by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. It was both the title track and the first single released from American singer Cyndi Lauper's second album. It was the only original song on the album that Lauper did not help write.

Rock: Be My Angel by Mazzy Star.  https://pandora.app.link/PfZCyzX1Mdb

She Hangs Brightly is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band Mazzy Star. It was released on May 21, 1990 by Rough Trade Records and re-released by Capitol Records later in the year. "Blue Flower" was released as a single and reached number 29 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Four years later, "Halah" reached number 19 on the same chart after the success of "Fade into You".

Until tomorrow, take care and stay safe.

Pop: Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.  https://pandora.app.link/8zBLKDEROdbThe song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable. The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 2013, making it Miley’s very first number one single.
