@Jl0ve92 To clarify, when attempting to play music on demand with your Pandora Plus subscription, you will be prompted to watch an advertisement to initiate a free session of Pandora Premium.
On-demand listening is only an option with a Pandora Premium subscription.
Our support team has confirmed that you have initiated a number of these sessions over the past few days.
For a complete explanation on this, check out the accepted solution to this post.
Hope this helps!
Hi. I’m new to Pandora. I have a subscription for Plus but I’m still having to watch video ads. I’ve made sure that my subscription is active in my subscriptions through Apple ID. When I try to retrieve my subscription, it says it’s subscriptions not available try again later or failed to restore active subscriptions please verify you have an account through your iTunes account. Which I do. And it’s selected. So if anyone can help point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
This is the email I received;
Thanks for writing in, and sorry for any confusion.
It looks like you're subscribed to Pandora Plus, not Pandora Premium. However, you're triggering a complimentary session of Premium in order to listen to on-demand content, which is why you're seeing ads.
In the past, free listeners and Pandora Plus subscribers were only able to look for artists and tracks in order to createradio stations.
We've updated your experience so that you have the ability to listen to content on-demand, without being a Pandora Premium subscriber.
If you search for and select the nameof an artist, or track, or album, you should be brought to a "backstage page" where you can either create a radio station or press play.
If you press play you indicate that you'd like to listen to that content right away (or "on-demand"). Since only Pandora Premium subscribers can listen on-demand, you will either see an ad for Pandora Premium, or be prompted to watch a video ad to unlock a complimentary session of Pandora Premium.
Keep in mind that upgrading to Pandora Premium or accepting a complimentary session of Pandora Premium is completely optional; you can close the ad and we'll create a station for you to listen to instead (if one is available).
Should you decide to accept a complimentary session of Pandora Premium, rest assured that you won't be billed; because the additional cost of these sessions is covered by the advertisement, your account will return to your regular service automatically when the session expires, and you won't be charged any Pandora Premium fees.
I hope this helps to explain. Let me know if you have any other questions.
So basically, Pandora still wants more money! 😔

I just subscribed for Pandora Plus, even verified it on my Apple ID. I am still hearing and seeing Ads. I double checked to make sure my Apple ID address and my e-mail on my Pandora match, and the do. I logged out of my account, and logged back in. I, also, closed out the app and reopened the app and tried again. None of this worked. Why am I hearing ads??
@Mamacias1989 I moved your post to this thread as it looks like you are also initiating free sessions of Pandora Premium when attempting to stream content on demand.
For a complete explanation on why these advertisements are still being triggered on your account, check out the accepted solution to this thread.
Hope this helps explain!
I recently tried the 30 day trial, checking on the app and clicking "retrieve subscription" I see the trial and that its suppose to end and start charging next month. Maybe its suppose to be like this but the issue is I click on collection and only have the 1 station I clicked on during my confusion cus none of the songs I had set to a playlist were there. Turned out I have to search a song, click it to watch the ad, then I can go to collection and see it there.
Okay, watching an ad on a trial, I can deal with. Then after about 20 minutes or so it just stops and goes back to the one station it was on previously. Dunno if I am missing something but if the need for an ad is there, then why can't it just auto start an ad instead of shutting it down completely? I only plan to use this at work but its a pain at this time.
@Unknownfox I moved your post to this thread to keep the community tidy.
To clarify, your account is currently upgraded to Pandora Plus - not Pandora Premium. The ability to stream content on demand and create customized playlists is only an option with Pandora Premium.
However, you do have the ability to enable short sessions of Pandora Premium by interacting with an advertisement. After the session is over, your account reverts back to your regular Pandora Plus subscription, which would explain why your on-demand content disappears.

Hope this helps!
When I try to play my thumbs up music its asking me to pay.....I've been upgraded for years! **ahem**!
I'm about to move over to your competitor!

its not just the ads...my thumbs up play list that I saved so I can listen to them off line like I have been doing for years now doesn't work, the list only shows in my profile and I have to watch a commercial about "premium" to listen to one song. why am I blocked from listening to my offline list without interruption?
