This is actually a limitation of Android Auto. Check out forums on "Coolwalk", the feature that Android has been working on for quite a long time that allows for choosing any two apps to share the screen. They've been promising a public release for months but keep pushing back due to problems.

This is at least the third or fourth ideas post about parental controls and family plans I've found today. Not including those that have been archived due to lack of activity. Pandora needs to consolidate these and then they'd see just how important these features are to us. I, for one, love my stations but am about to quit Pandora for another service that has these kinds of features.

I have the family plan as well. There are a few problems with it. One is that each family member essentially has to have their own account, which means they need an email address. Kind of strange to create an email address for my toddler so he can have his own list of stations. Another is that there is no administrator. I can't say control what others in the family plan listen to, or when, or anything. Another is the account is associated with a device. I have a dedicated echo device in my son's play room that is connected to his Pandora. But what about the living room? I can't change profiles on those devices to either play music for him or music for me or my wife. Because we can't switch profiles, or control other accounts, this is not really a family plan. I'd be better off with one Pandora account and just create stations for everyone, but then there's the issue of explicit content. Sigh. I love my curated stations, but there are many problems with Pandora that keep making me want to leave.

Completely agree with all of you. This is NOT a true family plan. I had to create an email address for my toddler just so I could create an "account" for him. But, that also means I have to have a dedicated device to play his music on, currently an echo device in his play room. When we're in the car, I have to log out of my account and into his if I want to play his Pandora radio. I know Pandora says the age is 13 and up and I don't understand that policy other than to get around creating a proper family plan with administrators, profiles, etc. I'm a long time Pandora user, have beautifully curated stations for me and I don't want my thumbs-up catalog full of childrens songs. But right now, due to the lack of easy profile switching and family plan management (plus other issues I've posted on other ideas pages), I'm about ready to pull the plug and move to another service. Pandora, please here us. The only reason many of us are still customers is because of our perfectly curated stations, but even that is losing its luster with all the deficits compared to the competition.

Yes, Spotify has this feature and almost made me stay with Spotify because of it. One other annoying, but related, issue is if I forget to stop streaming in my office and try to play Pandora in my car, I constantly get the "Another device is playing" message. I know my computer put up a prompt to let them or let me listen, but Android Auto and the Android App offered no such prompt and so I keep getting the message. So yeah, a cleaner way to transfer to other devices needs to be implemented.
