Disclaimer: I've been a premium subscriber for a very long time and a user for even longer than that (i.e., I cultivated one of my stations back in 2009).
I think Pandora is missing a few niche features that would put it above the competition of music streaming services. Namely, better music organization. The app and webapp are just not good in this regard. Plain and simple.
Sorting and organizing stations better is one thing but what gets to me the most is collecting albums. If I'm given the ability to collect, let me play with that collection. I mean, let me organize it, sort it, create a virtual disc changer, or a stack full of my favorites. That is to say, we need to be able to sort better, but more importantly, sort by artist, sort by genre, focus on the data under the hood. Craft this as if we actually have "collected" this music. I want to see music by year, listen to my favorites from July 2004, or remix May 2014 with some goodies from November 2022. Create mixes not just of songs, but full albums. Play them one after the other or shuffle them together for the ultimate album.
Music if fluid and while Pandora has been phenomenal at allowing people to discover new music, people can be fluid as well, so let's push that further by letting them collect that new music and slot the albums and playlists into what works for them.
And for the record, none of this should encumber the current experience. This should be optional for those that care about it. Don't shove it in people's faces. Simply let them discover the ability to do so by gently nudging them. Discovery. It's what Pandora does best.
