wergwtgwg, Amazon Music does not have a compact player, I don't use google music or Apple. I have heard there is a workaround for Spotify and it is posted in this thread already. I agree and simply want a small compact player to take up less desktop space. But the cool thing with Amazon music is that when the songs switch from one to another Windows notifications will get an alert and show you the song that just played or the song that just started. I never catch the alert with focus assist but it does help if you want to build a specific playlist when exploring new artists, songs, and genres. Desert_mike Enjoy your weekend, hopefully, someone at pandora will see this thread and advocate for a compact player view in the next update.

OlorinTharkun, Thanks for the reply and for providing the link. I can't fault Pandora on this one. We may be the minority population. This feature's demand signal may be relatively small compared to the increased competition of features desired from software applications on personal computers and devices. We 'desktop/laptop' users are probably really small of the total device population. I know I am starting on-campus school again a few times a week so that I won't be exclusively in front of my laptop daily for 8 to 10 hours five days a week. That means my cell phone will get all the playtime. I still think it should be easy enough to bring back a previous design and ensure its comparability with the current Windows, Chrome, Apple, Android, or Linus OS'. But that may be far more challenging than we know. I figure the best thing to do is continually chime up and bring it to their attention.

DeathofRats, Thanks for the post and feedback. What features would you like specifically from the mini-player, so it is integrated into the operating system's functions and other applications? What is it that you're looking for, i.e., absolute, nice to have, could do without, could that be an on/off feature I control? I assume the more detail, the better from a Pandora application developer's perspective. I really want pandora to bring the mini-player but for the mini-player to be more than just a small application window. Something far more integrated and cross-application friendly. Mike

Lorax, I am not familiar with your question regarding the "heart" icon I am assuming you mean the "thumbs up" icon to build your preferences within different stations, and playlists. I agree with the problem with so many desktop applications these days, is that the application wants the whole screen. I need a popup message alert like the windows' My phone Companion" when you receive a text message or an alert on your mobile device. shows up in the corner and fades away over 3, 5, or 7 seconds. New songs should do the same with the Pandora desktop application and then it should let you thumbs up or thumbs down the last song without switching apps.

I have not read all the comments so I apologize in advance for this if it has already been addressed. Since many of us who use the desktop application of pandora also play video games or work in AutoCAD or some other software application that requires the full screen. Pandora's mini-application or reduced size application remains as it is just with the ability to shrink the window pane size to only thumbs up down, song title repeat, pause, skip. This would take a lot less space and would not require revamping the whole application just a simple update and a button to select a mini view. The really high-end feature updates would be to overlay the new song title when the song transition in the top right or left corner of the screen when a different application is using the whole screen similar to the way you use the keyboard shortcut key for 'Record' in the Windows Xbox Game Bar with selecting (Win+G). This simple overlay could tell the information you want to know about the last song and who the new artist is and the song. Then a simple alt+(user-specified key) would allow for the end-user to thumbs up thumbs down, repeat, skip, pause without skipping a beat from what they are currently doing. This is key for gamers and the modern meeting environment during covid. I typically have pandora at 10 to 15% audio playing to my speakers while I have my zoom audio or Microsoft teams audio and Microphone to my headset. It sets a little background music and ambiance when watching presentations that don't always have to deal with me directly. For the laptop user who travels frequently and is prone to waiting in areas with limited on pay only internet, a quick download button for the desktop app would be great. Instead of selecting each song individually, download the last 5, 10, 15, all songs, and then a new screen would allow you to deselect the songs you don't want. Or download all thumbs up from these (or this) collections. Then the thumbs up playlist could be separated by collections, all, or custom playlist by a click of a button. Switch device or send playlist/collection to the device for download would be great. It is quicker to make a playlist on the desktop but then I have to manually download it on my phone. I am thinking about running or work out mixes. Just a few thoughts based on some of my own personal frustrations using the desktop app more and more in the COVID world. Mike
