If this is truly an Android version issue with this new permission,  my situation is having version 8.1 on a 2017 Galaxy J3 Eclipse phone. Have 2016 Buick Encore and 2022 Honda CRV and  works with Pandora 2203.1 including the functionality of running Pandora from the SD card. I did install the latest version 2212.1 and the portability to the card works when listening through the phone or on a bluetooth device. I haven't checked it out on the cars though, but it sounds like from other replies this won't work since I'm most likely limited on updating to a later Android version. We'll see. ... View more

In my OP, I have a 2016 Buick Encore. At some point in time autos came with a touch screen so using Android Auto can display the audio source and as well as display Navigation apps like Maps and Waze.   Since my car does not have the touch screen, using the 2203.1 version is the viable solution in my case, and apparently for others.   If Pandora is moving forward,  then I would recommend that the powers that be note this version for those users with similar auto conditions. ....note that I'm currently using a 2017 Samsung Galaxy J327V Eclipse with 16G internal memory, so being able to move the app to the SD card is a nice bonus.  Eventually, I will upgrade my phone ‌😁‌ ... Though replying now, I also did the recommended solution earlier, and has also worked for me. This earlier version also has the capability to move the app to the SD card run successfully from there. I've mentioned this in my OP. Other comments I've made regarding software quality control and management need to be addressed, and publicly provide this last known Android version from their web site or in the Google Play store until a formal announcement whether these functions will or not be continued. ... I would strongly recommend when an update to Pandora occurs that a description of issues fixed/corrected in that version be placed at the top of Pandora app description -- in plain sight -- so users know right away instead of searching the community for this info. This is solid developer software configuration management practice. Assign software trouble report number and track it through solid testing verification AND any regression from the last controlled version that contained the original functionality.    'Nuff said  ... Own a 2016 Buick Encore with the infotainment system ("dashboard ") installed with Pandora as an audio source. I'm having 2 issues with latest Pandora version that I didn't have in previous versions... phone is a Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse (2017; JM-327V; Android version 8.1.0). Android Auto is not installed.  a. With the appropriate settings enabled, I'm unable to launch Pandora from the dashboard with the app installed on the phone's internal memory. The Pandora selection on the dashboard is greyed out. I am able to listen to Pandora using the Bluetooth selection from the dashboard when the app is launched from phone.  b. In previous versions I was able to do the above and listen to stations either on internal memory (16G) or moved the app (storage issue from internal memory) to my SD card with no problems listening to music. What changes, if any, occurred that would cause the issues? Would I be able to install the previous version? Have cleared data and/or cache, and uninstalled/reinstalled with no improvement. I also have tried from the dashboard to reselect my phone for bluetooth connection in order to get the Pandora selection available on the dashboard in order to launch the app from my phone but no success this time.  Appreciate anyone's help with this. ...
