As someone who listens to Pandora while working, I think it would be amazing if Pandora could serve as something of a Pomodoro timer to keep me focused and productive by inserting tracks from stations other than the one selected at pre-determined intervals so I don't have to check the clock or set a timer.
The "Pomodoro Method" is a popular productivity methodology built around a simple schedule:
focus on one thing for 25 minutes
take a 5 minute break
[ repeat 3-4 times ]
take a 15-30 minute break
Plenty of links out there to explain the background, how it works, and so on, but this is the gist of it.
In my mind's eye, I'm imagining a mode wherein Pandora plays tracks from the currently selected station for 25 minutes, then changes to another station for 5, before changing to another station for 25, and so on. When I hear the music change from, say, classic rock to electronic, I know I've completed the session and it's time to get a drink or something.
Added bonus, this would also be a nice feature for anyone playing Pandora in the workplace, as it would allow for variety (everyone's preferred channels get played daily), and unconsciously drive overall focus and productivity.
An additional, nice-to-have feature to this mode would probably be the ability to select which stations are included in the Pomodora Mode (you know, to prevent Xmas music being played inappropriately).
Thanks.
