My phone is doing the same thing. STILL! No fix in sight??? 1-10-25
I swapped to amazon music after about a year of this voice command issue. **ahem** to lose all my Playlists and likes but I used it primarily for driving so I needed voice command to work. It's also cheaper, $99 for a year so it was like 8.50 a month while pandora was charging me 12 a month for a broken app they don't seem able to fix....
Yeah I'll be looking at alternatives before my renewal. I use Google assistant to work pandora as much as possible. But half the time it doesn't work either
I found out can use freegal music with a library card might look into that more before I pay for something.

It has now been more than a year since this became a problem for what I expect are the majority of Pandora subscribers.
Pandora has not been forthcoming. Not about the cause of the problem, timelines for a fix or even whether they anticipate being able to fix it at all.
In July 2024, five months after @MusicFan78989 opened a ticket and a thread, I queried @AdamPandora for a status looking for something more substantial than " Our engineers are working on it". We got a reply from @AlyssaPandora saying....(in essence)
"Our engineers are working on it, we have no updates nor a timeline for a fix." July 2, 2024
And then silence and somewhere along the way i got a notification that this uninformative status from staff was being marked as a solution.
Thus I'm opening this new thread as I expect the original is now not reviewed by Pandora staff because it is marked as having a solution. The evidence for this is that there has been an absence of engagement by Pandora staff since. This is in spite of more than 25 subsequent additions to the thread by subscribers asking for help and/or updates. ... and just silence in return.
TL;DR Voice commands do not work, Pandora does not respond to the original problem statement. Subscribers are progressively getting more upset with the lack of substantive engagement from the company.
What updates can Pandora offer now? After more than a year this is a very reasonable request.
It begins to look as if the problem is beyond Pandora's capacity to fix. Is this the case? (If yes, it's a bit unfair to subscribers to infer engineers are working on the problem)
If any progress has been made, is there a timeline available to a fix being deployed?
Is Pandora able to describe the root cause of the problem?
I too as well as my husbands phone cant use the voice beyond " Hey Pandora". PLEASE fix this. You seem to have lost a ton of subs due to NOT fixing the problem!!! 1-12-25

It's been a year since your post. Did you ever get a fix?
This is unreal. Been an issue for going on a year+ and all Pandora does is give generic "we're working on it" responses. Time to switch to Amazon music.
I'm beginning to doubt that there ever WILL be a fix. I can't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet. It worked flawlessly before and then just one day it quit.
Voice command still not working and I'm about to stop paying for it. There is a new law of hands free in the car and you cant do that if you cant tell pandora to skip, play or whatever with your voice! I know its been at least a year this is been going on and im about done! The only places I use it are my car and the shower. Both of which I'm not supposed to touch! I know my money isn't anything to such a huge company but come on! Fix this please!

Yeah I'm having the and problem
I have a galaxy 21splus and I am having the same issue, for about a year now, while I'm driving and trying to stay safe and hands free from phone, this is very frustrating that the voice assistant won't work, really makes me want to cancel my subscription. We are paying for something not working properly.
I want to be a fan of Pandora. I enjoy it and always recommend it but I always regret it because of issues like this, especially when it has been over a year and no fix.

@AlyssaPandora Greetings, We are now at the 1.5yr mark. Is there any new information? We, the customers, know the problem is geographic based. At least in part as regards wifi - though that does not speak to root cause. When I travel to Michigan it works on wifi. When in tri-state area it works neither on wifi nor on mobiledata. Disappointingly, its not that Pandora was forthcoming and said it will work in some geographic areas and not in others - it was merely that I discovered it because I travel frequently enough to see consistent behaviors.
Can anything be shared? Or will I just be posting another query in 6 months at the 2yr mark?
Just switched from a iPhone to a Motorola razor and I'm extremely disappointed that the hey Google feature doesn't work so I can use it hands free to play songs. Even the hey Pandora doesn't work. It pops up and I say what I want and it does nothing. Ridiculous I'm paying for Pandora and it doesn't work how I want and has so many issues all the time ...
