Subaru - Android: Unable to skip to next track

Here is what is happening:

I connected the Pandora app to my 2017 Subaru legacy. I select an album and play a track.  I use the controls on my steering wheel or on the app (my android). And can only:

advance to another track or another album once or twice or
if it allows me to change the track (only through phone, steering wheel controls don’t work) the new track will play over whatever track is currently playing.
The only option at this point is to close pandora app on phone.

FYI: the controls on the steering wheel work perfectly when using Sirius XM or AM/FM radio stations.

I have force closed, uninstalled/reinstalled pandora app and done hard reset of android phone.

Anyone have a solution?

Hi @Stevenotstu

Welcome to community!

To clarify, are you having this experience only when connected to your Subaru or outside of your car as well, either playing directly from your phone or through another device such as a speaker?

In the meantime, can you let me know your:

  • Make and model of your phone:
  • Android OS:
  • Pandora version:

Thanks.

I have a Samsung galaxy z flip3 5g

android OS 14

pandora version 2403.1

Pandora works fine connected to a portable Bluetooth speaker. Pandora app worked flawless for a couple of months. Issue started around February.

Hi @Stevenotstu

Thanks for the details.

It's definitely odd that it's only happening when you're connected to your Subaru. I've gone ahead and passed this along to our engineering team for further review.

One last question, are you connecting to PandoraLink, the Pandora app that is available in your car's head unit?

Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

I've tried with the Pandora option thru the radio and also using
Bluetooth. Neither works for me. In the past I always used Bluetooth. I
didn't try Pandora until Bluetooth started giving me problems.

Thanks!

Thanks, @Stevenotstu - definitely weird that it is only occurring in your Subaru. I appreciate the details.
