Ideas: Enable background operation on firestick 4K Max

I want to keep pandora running in the background on a firestick 4k Max.  I like to run projectM music visualizer with Pandora. I have a firestick 4K that does this with no fiddling. I start Pandora, press home, and then start ProjectM. However, on my 4K Max, when I press Home button, Pandora dies. I did some searching and see some references to enabling background operation in the Pandora settings, but I don't see that option on my devices.

I can run ADB commands but I'd need the right command to send that would enable Pandora to run in the bakground.

Hi @rhodesengr

Thanks for posting!

Unfortunately, background audio for the Firestick is currently not a feature. Your post has been moved over to our Ideas Board. The best place for feedback and ideas you'd like to see for Pandora.

We're always looking for ways to improve and feedback like this helps! The status of your post has been updated to Open Ideas.

Hope to see you around community more!

I actually found a solution. Note that I posted that background operation worked  with two different Firestick 4k's but would not work on my 4k max. I found that if I disabled Ambient Experience on Firestick 4k Max, Pandora would stay running after I pressed Home and start project M.

What would be a nice feature for Pandora would be to integrate project M into the Pandora App so folks aren't stuck with the static Pandora screen. Even if a user shuts off Ambient Experience, the projectM app as a separate app will not actually respond to any music unless you send a specific ADB permission command. This is not something most Pandora users would want to do or be able to do.
