Yes, never thumb up songs anywhere on Pandora. It makes the terrible lack of variety even worse. I've spent hundreds of hours over years trying to get Pandora to play the widest variety possible but the system and the algorithms work against it. I've found no way to overcome it. I've tried shuffling hundreds of stations and tried having hundreds of artists on stations. Ideally, I would like a service to randomly play me everything ever, I will curate it with thumb ups and thumb downs. Everything Pandora does different from random is worse than random. Follow up: Cramming a station full of seeds that I love has worked beautifully in providing with a tremendous variety of music I love. It's the best use I've been able to make of Pandora. However, after the weeks I spent loading the seeds (essentially transferring my playlist), I now see that more than half the seeds are missing. Is there a limit to the number of seeds? If not, can mine be restored? Thanks, AdamPandora. In fact, it is just that type of variety that I like. I prefer to have my pop, classical, Spa, Christmas, jazz, etc. on one station and do not consider them undesirable matches. One trouble with having separate stations for each style is that each station must be individually cultivated. I don't want to listen to only one genre at a time to cultivate them. While I do use shuffle, it is counter productive to use up-thumbs on shuffle because I can't see which station a song is playing from and eventually the stations will begin to merge together. Since Pandora is not yet allowing me to create a station from my playlist, it seems the best way I can provide myself with the variety I want is to have a station, or shuffled stations, with a wide variety of seeds but to never use up-thumbs, Rather, take any new song I like and add it as a seed. ... I listen on my phone but edit on my PC. It's faster on the PC because you can at least grab the scroll bar on the right to zip to the bottom of the playlist to grab another song to move. -Working hard to keep myself a happy Pandora customer. ... View more

To keep myself a happy Pandora customer, I am currently manually alphabetically sorting my growing 1200+ song playlist. As you know, it takes a lot of effort and time. It is absolutely necessary or I wouldn't be able to edit the playlist. There are two different questions in this thread. Some users are looking to sort their list of playlists. Others are looking to sort the songs within a playlist. It seems neither is easily done. I have over 1200 (and growing) songs in my playlist. I keep them alphabetical so that I can edit them more "easily" (lol). The process is time consuming and irritating. I am using the app on a Galaxy A12 through Spectrum. When I try to add The Golden Girls (Theme) by Sid & the Comeds I get the message, "We're having unexpected technical difficulties". When I try to add Three Bells by The Browns, Pandora instead adds the title The Three Bells (Les Trios Cloches) by Anita Kerr Quartet.
