I left Pandora about two years ago, largely over the lack of a year-end review. Alerts for this thread are the only reason I'm here. It's not just the lack of year-end review. There really are not stats available whatsoever. I'm still on Spotify. Overall, I prefer it because of the stats they make available and the larger userbase (e.g. blends with my family members). Still, Pandora does a better job of letting a user create a music channel just by giving thumbs-up and thumbs-down to songs. Spotify makes it harder to add things to a playlist, and their "Smart Shuffle" is not nearly as good as Pandora's algorithm at finding new songs to add to a list. Spotify has the AI DJ, but he's not as good as Thumbprint radio at Pandora when you don't want to focus on one specific channel/playlist. And I swear the Spotify shuffle algorithm must use a faulty random number generator, because the same songs come up way too frequently on a 600-song playlist. There are reasons to use Pandora. But this thread serves as a symbol of the #1 reason I left... they're just mailing it in instead of trying to provide a great user experience.
