Creator: Anyone Have Any Tips for How to Get On Radio Stations?

anjachurchill
Underground

Hi everyone - I’m an independent folk artist and I’d love to get my songs playing on Pandora’s radio stations. I know Pandora has its own Music Genome Project and curation process, so I’m wondering, has anyone here successfully gotten their music picked up?

What’s the best way to increase your chances? Do you need to submit through AMP, or is there a way to get on editorial radars? Any tips or behind-the-scenes insight would be amazing.

Thanks so much!
Anja

Hey @anjachurchill - This is a great question!

Currently, when a creator has their music added to Pandora for the first time, it is initially only available for on-demand listening. From there, our Curation team reviews the new music and decides which will be sent to our Music Analysts and which will remain solely on-demand.

If it is sent to the Music Analysts, they will identify up to 450 musicological attributes to describe your tracks, fans will be able to immediately start a new station based on your artist name or one of your tracks, and the Music Genome Project will begin matching your music with similar artists and tracks on listeners’ stations.

Getting your music analyzed will also unlock the ability to use AMP’s Artist Audio Message and Featured Tracks promotional campaign tools.

With that being said, please let me know what your artist name is and i can be sure that it on their radar 🙂

One last note - while your content may be delivered to us by your distributor, Pandora is still a curated collection. In other words, your partnership with your distributor does not guarantee inclusion on Pandora Radio.

I hope this all helps ✌️

@anjachurchill Just following up here to let you know that I found your music.

I have shared it with our Curation team to consider it for radio. There's is nothing else you have to do on your end.

Good luck 🤞
