Android: Playlists created on web do not show in mobile app

I've had a Pandora subscription since 2019.  Very few problems for the most part.

But the last few days, any new playlist I create does not show up on the Android app.  I've tried clearing data, re-installing the app, restarting my phone, etc.

I thought maybe there is some upper limit to the number of playlists it can handle, since I do have quite a lot.  But even after deleting some older ones, it still refuses to display my latest.

Any ideas?

Couple more observations:

  • I just tried creating a new playlist from within the mobile app, and that works fine.
  • I can also edit an older playlist via desktop browser, and the changes sync to mobile with no problem.

So it's only playlists created via desktop browser during the past 3 to 4 days which won't appear in mobile.  (And I know they haven't been deleted, because they are still visible in desktop.)

@grundyunderhill Thanks for following up, with that information.

Please try signing out of the app, and signing back in.

If that does not resolve the issue, can you send over a bit more info about your device?

  • Model:
  • Carrier:
  • Android version (Settings > About Phone):
  • Build number (Settings > About Phone):
  • Android Security Patch Level, if noted on your device (Settings > About Phone):
  • Pandora version:
    • If you can open Pandora, go to Profile, then select Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the version number.
    • If you can't open Pandora: from Android Home screen > Android Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Find Pandora
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data when this is happening?

Have you identified any other patterns or notable information?

Let me know what you can find out.

@AdamPandora, sorry for the slow response.  I had tried signing out and back in again before, but at your suggestion did so again.  At first, it appeared to make no difference.

But then I tried searching for the missing playlists by name, and they did come up in search.  After playing and/or downloading them from search results, they appear at the top of my playlists view as expected.  So, still no idea why they didn't sync automatically, but at least I have a viable workaround.

Many thanks for your help!
