Android: Podcasts buffer and skip to a different episode

I just started having this problem on my pixel 7 listening to the Command Zone podcast "dinosaur precon upgrade guide" episode. I only have the issue with this episode, and it will buffer and then skip over every following episode with any listening progress. I have listened to this episode a few times already.

So I was able to get around the issue by downloading and going offline. Then I tried to recreate the issue and the closest I could get was it will play the last quarter second of sound and then skip to the next episode. I did this at 9:09 and again at 9:13 this morning (Jan 3 2025). I grabbed a screenshot, but it is just if the next episode starting as there wasn't anything visually out of the ordinary as this episode was buffering
