Android: "No Data Connection" Error in Offline Mode

I have a Pandora plus account and a thumbprint station, however even in offline mode, I kept getting a 'no data connection " error in the middle of the lake in the mountains ! So disappointing, because it was the whole reason I set up offline, plus and thumbprint station.
