Let’s kick off the warm weather with some summer jams.
But rather than just dream up a playlist, I think it would be fun to see what I can find using information pulled directly from the people-powered analyses in Pandora’s Music Genome.
As you probably know by now, there’s a squad of us here at Pandora that listen to songs and identify all the different elements on a track. So, we’re able to capture when a song is about something like, the summer, for example, in addition to hundreds of other little details. Cool. But even cooler when you start combining it with other elements.
Sure, we could knock out a Summer Party or Summer Romance playlist easily, but the depth of our info gives us the opportunity to look for more interesting, nuanced connections.
Like, we could look for a feel-good summer song set at the beach.

BAM
(Almost Monday – Sweet Feelings)
Or see if there are any designed specifically to get a laugh?

Ska-doosh
(Heywood Banks – I Love Summer)
Maybe you’re after especially high quality summer lyrics?

Bloop
(Childish Gambino – Survive)
Or you want something spacey and dreamy for those long summer twilights?

Ka-Zing!
(Mack – Cheers)
Of course, if there are kids along for your summer ride, we don’t want to leave them out.

Swoosh
(Barbie & Mattel – Ride the Wave)
All right, after that blast of sugar, I need a humid summer bummer to straighten me out.

Poof
(Jack Blocker – Azalea)
Let’s wash those vibes away with a sparkling summer cocktail.

Gurgle
(Karly B – Mar Y Alcohol)
And why don’t we wrap it up with the chillest, most content reflection on the season?

Sizzle
(Louis Armstrong – Summer Song)
Whatever flavor of summer you’re living, we’ve got you covered.
