Ideas: Add Home Assistant-Music Assistant integration

Greetings,

I have been a proud paid customer of Pandora for the last 15 years or so.  I have Sonos speakers in every room of the house.  I have recently deployed Music assistant/Home assistant. Support for several music streaming providers is currently possible with music assistant and Sonos. Support for Pandora is not currently possible.  Does Pandora plan any changes in the near future to welcome/facilitate integration with the HomeAssistant/MusicAssistant community?  Pandora is my favorite music streaming provider and my music thumbprint is quite deep. I would really hate to start over with another streaming provider.  Help!

Just wondering if there has been any traction on this request?

I am the author of 2 different media player integrations for Home Assistant, and would like to take a crack at adding a Pandora media player integration (not related to Music Assistant though).  There seems to be quite a bit of interest in a Pandora service for Home Assistant, so I thought I would pursue it.

I currently offer Pandora access through my Bose SoundTouch media player integration, but  it's severely limited to the underlying Bose application (basic player functions, "My Stations" retrieval, etc).

I am well versed in API's, OAuth authentication, etc, as that is what my Spotify media player currently provides for Home Assistant.  

In looking at the Developer API link, it seems that you are not accepting new requests for accounts.

I have utilized Pandora since 2006 and recently installed home assistant to manage all my IoT devices and home automations. It would be awesome to have a native integration for home assistant.

Please move my vote for Home assistant integration for Pandora. I love pandora and refuse to try something else.

I’m also a long time Pandora user for the past 15 years. I’ve tried to find alternatives like Spotify since Sonos support was dropped, but I haven’t found a replacement for Pandora yet. I’m still looking for a decent alternative so I can easily stream to my older Sonos speakers and will continue to look.

I agree, it would be a wonderful benefit for a Pandora HomeAssistant integration for streaming Pandora to Sonos speakers. I realize AirPlay is an option, but this is limited to newer Sonos speakers. Pandora used to have a Sonos integration, but it was removed for some unknown reason.

Count my vote for HomeAssistant support. Hopefully this would bring easy backward compatibility for older Sonos speakers.

If you are open to using Spotify, you might check out my SpotifyPlus integration for Home Assistant.  It supports Sonos, as well as other Spotify Connect capable devices.  You can also use it with a free Spotify account (Premium not required) if you just want to try it out.   Note that there are limitations with Free account membership (ads, no skipping, etc).

I am hoping that Pandora will re-open their API for public consumption, but I’ve been waiting for almost a year for them to respond to my request.

Thank you for the offer. I will at least try it. I am kind married to
Pandora but I am looking for another app just for 1 off tunes. Currently if
I ask Alexa to play a 1 off somehow she makes new stations that I have to
delete. I imagine I could just link Home assistant Nabu to your app and do
my one offs there and keep Alexa for my regular stuff. Thank you.
