Ideas: Deep integration with iOS Automation

Ideas: Deep integration with iOS Automation

I'm trying to create a personal automation that simply opens up Pandora to play a specific station.    I can create an automation that opens up Pandora but I don't see any way to ask for a specific station.    I can say "Hey Siri, ask Pandora to play Thumbprint Radio" but I can't seem to do that with a personal automation.     Any ideas?

Hi @rickangelini

Thanks for stopping by!

While Pandora doesn't have a deep integration with iOS Shortcuts, there is a workaround you can try that may prove useful. You can then incorporate it into a personal automation for future use.

In the meantime, thanks for the feedback. Your post has been updated to Open Ideas.

Here are the steps to create the automation:

  • Start playing the station you want to automate
  • Go to the station’s details and tap Share
  • Choose Copy Link
  • Open the Shortcuts app and tap the + to create a new shortcut
  • In the search bar, look for Open URLs and select it
  • Paste the copied Pandora link into the URL field
  • (Optional) Tap the header to rename the shortcut and choose an icon
  • Tap Done to save it

The first time you run the automation, iOS may prompt you to open the link in Safari, but after you allow it, future runs should go straight into Pandora and open that station. From there, you can link the Shortcut into a personal automation.

Hope this helps!
