How about higher audio quality? Amazon has introduced this feature, and others have been ahead of Pandora as well. It would be great to have the Genome Project advantage with higher audio quality. Do others agree?
Moderator Edit: Edited title for clarity
I think that is what they use now for mobile only and it’s capped at 64 kb HE AAC which is roughly equivalent to 128 mp3. HE Aac caps at 96 kb but even that would be better for mobile as it’s around a 192 mp3 equivalent. I have more of an issue with “at home devices” which play at 128 mp3. Bandwidth is not an issue at home via wifi so why are they not giving us the highest quality then can offer? It boggles me.
I strongly agree that the audio quality here is lacking. I just signed up for a 30-day trial of Plus and was surprised that the audio quality on my AVR was unchanged. I will end the paid service before I have to make my first payment.
The other big drawback was finding out that the iOS bit rate is unchanged (and terrible) for the Plus level of service. This makes it less than desirable as a car music source.
I don't understand how this Open Idea (Higher Quality Audio) is ranked 6th (likes) on Feature Requests.
I have already started using Apple Music and it sounds way better than Pandora. I still like the interface and the genome of Pandora but i am running out of patience.
Take my money. Offer premium service.
Terrible audio quality for a paid subscription. Waste of my money.
Screeches and scratchy. No reason why it cannot be much better quality. What is Pandora doing with our subscription money? Seems audio quality would be no. 1 on their feature list.
