Ideas: Integrate QR code or PIN-based TV sign-in

Ideas: Integrate QR code or PIN-based TV sign-in

The current TV login experience requires manually typing email and password using the remote control, which is frankly painful in 2025. Nearly every other streaming service (Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Disney+, etc.) has moved to either QR code scanning or PIN-based pairing.

Typing a complex password character-by-character with a TV remote is the kind of user experience that makes people abandon the platform entirely. My password manager generates secure passwords that are essentially impossible to enter this way.

Has Pandora considered implementing any modern TV authentication methods? This seems like a basic UX improvement that would significantly reduce friction for TV users.

Thanks for any insight into whether this is on the roadmap.

Hi @andrewrich

Thanks for posting!

Since a QR code or PIN sign in is currently not available I moved your post over to our Ideas Board. This is the best place for feedback and new ideas.

While I can't speak to any future plans in store or the Pandora, I can agree that this would be a great integration and a much improved user experience. Thanks for taking the time to post!

Hope to see you around community more often!
