I was thinking…
There’s a huge gap in the internet right now for a space where people can just exist without algorithms, rage‑bait, or performance pressure. A place that feels more like the old MySpace era — where your page reflected who you were, what you were creating, and what you were feeling — but updated for today’s tools and creativity.
Pandora is already halfway there. You’ve got the music, the profiles, the vibe, and a user base that isn’t trying to be TikTok. It wouldn’t take much to turn it into something like a modern MySpace — a “Pandora’s Box” where people can customize their page, share what they’re listening to, working on, and express themselves creatively.
A few ideas:
- No algorithms deciding what people see
- No monetization pressure or “creator economy”
- No bot swarms or romance scams — show the region a message or page comes from
- Just a chronological feed of real friends
- Personalizable profile pages where people can share their art, projects, playlists, costumes, games, whatever they’re making
- Ads only in the same style Pandora already uses — separate from the social space, not shaping it
Basically: a place where people can be themselves, decorate their corner of the internet, and connect without all the noise and manipulation that took over social media.
I don’t want credit or anything like that. I’d just love to see a space like this exist again. For my generation it would be nostalgic, for the new generations it would be so refreshing. Glitter pages, fun fonts, personal expression they have never known. They teach coding in elementary school now, imagine the amount of creativity and skills that could be displayed!
