@storycentric What is the name of the station you are unable to edit?
Let me know and I'm happy to take closer look.
thanks... NONE of "my collection" allow me to edit the station or add variety. Take a look at Adult Alternative Radio and/or Beach Bar Lounge radio... thanks! The "edit station" option is grayed out...
Beach Bar Lounge literally plays the same 10 songs EVERY time I put it on....
@storycentric Thanks for following up.
I moved your post over to this existing thread: Can't edit/add variety to genre stations
Unable to edit stations:
Genre stations, such as "Adult Alternative Radio" or "Beach Bar Lounge Radio," are stations curated by Pandora, and they behave a little bit differently than your own personalized stations. One difference is that you cannot edit or Add Variety to these stations.

Repetition with Beach Bar Lounge Radio:
Genre stations, such as "Beach Bar Lounge Radio" or "Today's Hits Radio," are stations created and curated by Pandora, and they often include more mainstream artists and songs.
As an alternative, we recommend creating your own station, using an artist or song that you think best represents a particular genre. Then use Thumbs to help guide the station you are trying to create.
Additionally, you may Add Variety to the station you create, in order to include other artists or songs you'd like to influence your station.
Keep in mind, each seed you add will inspire hundreds of other songs, so a little variety goes a long way. If you don't like the direction your station is headed, you can always edit your station seeds and Thumbs through the Station Details.
That said, when you're listening from a computer or mobile device you can access Pandora Modes to customize your station experience. You can pick different modes like Crowd Faves, Discovery and Deep Cuts. Let me know if you'd like more information about that.
Hope this helps!
This post is several years old, and it seems there's still no solution for those of us randomly having the problem. I have had a Pandora Premium Family plan for years, and have many custom stations seeded from a single song. I used to be able to add variety to any of them, any time I wanted to, using the "Add variety" dropdown option. Now it seems like only a handful of my stations have that option, and the only way I can curate reliably is with thumbs, which is not ideal. For example, in the screenshot below is my "Chill Holiday Radio" station, which as you might guess, I only look at around this time of year. It was created in 2017 and manually seeded with a single song. I would now like to add variety, but I'm no longer able to make any changes other than with thumbs. The "Edit station" link is greyed out on the Now Playing page, and the "Add Variety" link is simply gone.
Any suggestions? Also, why are there so many differences between Playlists, Collections and Stations with regard to editing capabilities and UI changes? It's so hard to keep up!

This being said, we have created some new Pandora Mode options for some of our holiday stations if you wanted to check those out.

Differences between Playlists, Collections and Stations:
If you have any specific feedback/changes you'd like to see with the way things are currently set up, I recommend creating a feature request with your suggestions here.
Hope this helps!
Yup, that was the issue. I have another station called "Chill Christmas" which is a regular station that I made (and can add variety to). I was just looking at the wrong station. Thanks!
Always happy to help, @billg123. 😎
Hope we continue to see you around the Community!

What if you aren't a Pandora Premium subscriber? Is it impossible to change the details of a station?
You used to be able to change the thumb ratings and seeds for stations from the web. Is this no longer possible?
@floris What is the name of the station you are having trouble editing?
Let me know.
It is "Christmas Radio" from my collection. When I click on the ellipses, "Edit Station" is greyed out and cannot be selected.
Thanks for following up, @floris.

This being said, you should still be able to remove any unwanted thumb ratings from that station.
Were you having trouble editing your thumb ratings still?
If so, please let me know the make and model of the device you are using.
Why can I not add variety to some of my stations? I'm a paying Pandora member using a PC. I've followed the instructions posted in the community pages, and there is no option on some stations to add variety and these are not "genre stations" as far as I know. One example is my station, Jazz Christmas. When I go to the "backstage" page, click the ellipses, the "Edit Station" is greyed out. The same is true of my "Christmas Traditional Radio" station.

Still can't add variety to stations none of the suggestions worked. I'm trying to add to my 70s Pop Radio station.

I had added seeds to the Pandora "Today's Alternative" radio to create my own station "Alt/Indie Rock". However, now I want to delete the "Alt/Indie Rock" station and collect the original "Today's Alternative". Every time I remove the "Alt/Indie Rock" station and collect the "Today's Alternative" station, "Alt/Indie Rock" station shows up in my collection. Could you please help me with this? Thanks
Additionally, the option to edit the "Alt/Indie Rock" station is grayed out and I am not able to remove the added seeds either.

Editing your Today's Alternative station:
While there was once a bug that allowed users to to edit their genre stations (ex: add additional artist/song seeds or editing the station name), that bug has since been resolved.
At this point, it is no longer possible to edit the name of these stations, or to add variety.
For more information, check out the accepted solution to this thread.
If you'd like to remove any seeds on that station, let me know and I can help make those changes for you on my end.

Creating a new Today's Alternative station:
I'm happy to help with this on my end. What I can do is delete the Today's Alternative seed on your Alt/Indie Rock station.
You should then be able to create a new Today's Alternative station.
Let me know if you'd like to proceed with this.
Hi Adam, yes, it would be great if you could delete the "Today's Alternative" seed from my "Alt/Indie Rock" station. You could also delete my "Alt/Indie Rock" station altogether, so that I can directly access "Today's Alternative" in future. Thanks!
Sounds good, @jaiswalayush.
I've gone ahead and removed that seed for you.
Try creating a new station for Today's Alternative, and let me know if you continue to run into issues with this.
