I "thumbed down" one of my favorites on a station it shouldn't have been on. Now it never plays.
I have an R&B song I love that is a "Thumbs Up" on a station that has other R&B songs. One day, this song appeared strangely on a different station of mine that it didn't fit at all, so I hit "Thumbs Down". Now I never hear it on the R&B station. It still shows as a Thumbs Up selection of mine in the past but I never hear it anymore. I'm a Pandora Plus user.
Moderator Edit: Edited title for clarity
@Acuraboy Thanks for taking the time to explain what happened. I can definitely understand why this would be frustrating, especially when it's one of your favorite songs.
To clarify, Thumbs are station-specific, so giving a Thumbs Down to a song on one station will not prevent it from playing on your other stations. Likewise, your Thumbs Up on your R&B station is still associated with that station, so the Thumb Down you gave elsewhere wouldn't override it.
As for not hearing that song on your R&B station anymore, I understand how frustrating that can be. With Pandora Plus, there's no way to control when or how often a particular song will play. Because of our licensing agreements, we have to limit how predictable specific songs or artists are on our radio-style services.
If you'd like complete control over what you hear, Pandora Premium offers on-demand listening, so you can play any song whenever you'd like. Alternatively, you can start a complimentary Premium Access session by searching for the song and pressing Play. After a short advertisement, you'll be able to enjoy that content on demand for a limited time.
I hope this helps clear things up!
