Music is repetitive in shuffle mode

For the last week or so every time I turn on Pandora (phone and desktop) it shuffles in the same order.  To the point that I can call what the next genre is going to be.  It starts with 90s country, then Tom Petty, then 90s Pop, then Beatles, etc.  How do I fix this?  It's driving me crazy! I have probably close to 100 stations on my shuffle and it keeps going in the same order. every. time...

He sat down on the riser and was immediately surrounded by people, so it was impossible to see him.  We left but heard that he was waving to the fans as he left the stage.  It was hot and muggy especially on stage with the lights.  Not sure if they are playing tonight in indy....we are planning on driving to Cinci tomorrow...hopefully to see a full show!! He as into allllll old stuff for the first hour, and was transitioning to the newer stuff...sat down during the song he wrote with Chris Stapleton: Joy.   All the best.

Why does the same song from the same album keep playing during Shuffle mode.  Shouldn't differnt song from the same artist play randomy?  Also, if I deselect a thumbs up song I get a error message that there is a techical difficulty and that the deselect can not occur right now, why is this happening.

Also, I would like to be able to shuffle just a couple of stations at a time.  It this type of change asked for by customers? If so, when will it be available?

Could you tell me a bit more about what is happening? Are you listening to Pandora on a computer or on a device?

1. If you are on a computer, are you listening from:
• A Mac or Windows computer?
• Our website, or the desktop app? If you're listening from our website, what browser are you using?
2. If you are on a device, what is the make and model (and carrier, if applicable)?
3. Can you provide me with a screenshot of the error message you're seeing?

This has been bothering me for awhile but I finally decided I was ready to look into other streaming services. Shuffle plays the same songs of the first 20-30 stations I listened to ten years ago when I first got Pandora. I never hear the music I've added in the past few years on shuffle. It really does a poor job in this department. It's not even very good when you play a station- with all the effort I put into "thumbs up", Pandora doesn't seem to respond- it sticks to the old standbys. It's getting old....

@Atty, I 100% agree... haven't been using Pandora now for several months to see what kind of shuffle I can get from Apple using their personalized station that chooses from what I save in my catalog and other metrics/algorithms. Seems to be working ok. Not as good as Pandora used to be, but definitely better than Pandora is now. This is a hard decision for me — I have long been a big supporter of Pandora. I really can't remember how long I've had this subscription (would have to research), but for sure it is over 10 years and probably more. When Pandora was bought by Sirius, there must have been some change to the tech-side; all of this seems (to me) to have begun right around that time.

anyway.... Pandora will probably go the way of Myspace now. You can still go to myspace.com, it exists, but nobody uses it. My family subscription is up for renewal on Sep 8 ($15/mo !!!!); gonna cancel and say good-bye to my longtime support!

Here's a crazy idea - have an actual random shuffle algorithm that really randomly shuffles ALL the songs from ALL my artists. It's clear that you're only randomly shuffling from songs and artists that were recently played, NOT among all the songs from all artists.

Pandora doesn't care. This has been a problem for years. Every "solution" Pandora throws ot there doesn't alleviate the problem.

this is what I did to resolve the issue:

1) unchecked all my thumbs up songs. This can take months depending on how many thumbs ups you have.

2) Detected all my stations

3) rebulit my stations and lists not using any of my previous selections of artist or genre. Basically start over.  This time I dont thumbs up any song.  Also if you skip a song the algorithm will think that you dont like that genre and will not play songs in that genre, so sometimes you have to listen to a song you dont particulary like in order to keep the variety going in that genre.  

Result: I'm getting more variety and a lot less repeats.  Remember not to thumb up any songs if you want to keep the variety. Always deselect the thumbs up any time it comes up.

I also removed all of my thumbs up and thumbs down (that took forever!).  I did not delete my stations... I am hearing more variety.  I am not using the thumbs up or down anymore (with the exception of a song or two that I absolutely can't stand).

Is there a way to view my thumbs up & down without waiting for them to play?

Yes. If you click stations and then click the station, all of the thumbs up and down will be listed there.  You can remove each one.  You unfortunately can't select all.  It's one at a time.  You will have to repeat this for each station you have.

If I remove from my thumbs up list, will it delete the song from the station I created, or just removes from my thumb list?
