Original release date isn't listed on remastered content

Stall
Underground

The year-of-release displayed for albums is very often incorrect! It seems as if Pandora shows the date of a remaster or re-release of an album, rather than its original release year.

The examples are plentiful, but a few that I just immediately noted:
- Roberta Flack's 'First Take' is listed as 2021, when the album was released in 1969.
- Rolling Stones 'Sticky Fingers' is listed as 2009; album was released in 1971
- Talk Talk's 'The Colour of Spring' is listed as 2003; album was released in 1986

I understand you're technically listing the date of the remasters being released, but this is deeply unhelpful. We want to see albums chronologically within an artist's catalogue, not when the record company decided to re-release a version 40 years later.

Pandora, please (please!) update your databases to list the initial release dates for albums. Surely it must be in your metadata already.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback, @Stall.

You are correct in that the original release date is not listed on remastered or re-released versions of songs or albums.

If you'd like to see that information made available, I recommend creating a new thread in our Ideas space.

This will give others around the community a chance to upvote your idea if it is something they are interested in as well.

I hope this helps explain.
