Would you be able to tell me why I can no longer add specific artists to my already created station?
mod edit: changed title for clarity

I can't even find the option to add variety anymore. It used to be in the three dot icon, but only option I get now is remove station. I've in the past used the phone app to do it, but now I can't find it there either anymore. Like, I am paying for the service, why is it being made more and more difficult to add variety to a station I've cultivated over a decade?
I started deleting stations. I wonder if the ones my Alexa created because it interpreted wrong were locked, and I found my 15 year old station. Was able to update that.

I guess I'd like to know a little bit more of what's going on. So, say you have a pre-made station like "Chill-out Radio". You like some of the stuff, and you want to add more to it to make it your own. Is it that you can't because you didn't originally make that station? I did look to see that my "Chill-Out Radio" doesn't have the option to add variety, but my old 15 year old "Castles-in-the-Sky Radio" does. Should I just make a brand new station and add the flavors that I liked from the pre-made radio into it?
@StormyHowls Genre stations, such as "Today's Hits" or "Chill-out Radio," are stations curated by Pandora, and they behave a little bit differently than your own personalized stations. One difference is that you cannot Add Variety to these stations.
That's because Adding Variety could change your listening experience on these stations; added seeds would most likely inspire music outside of the scope of the intended genre.
That said, when listening from a computer, mobile device or the Sonos app, you can access Pandora Modes to customize your station experience. You can pick different modes like Crowd Faves, Discovery and Deep Cuts.
In the meantime, I've noted your request for the option to edit genre stations.
Hope this is helpful. Thanks for listening!

Hi, I am a Pandora subscriber. I am not able to find Javi “The Collective” when I try to add the artist to a station I created for Steve Wilson. However, I can play the artist separately in Pandora and in libraries. Why does this not work for stations?
thanks Michele

I've experienced the same issue trying to add variety to Chris Stapleton channel.
@Rfranz44 I do see you are using an Android device.
To clarify, are you experiencing the same issue that others have reported here?: Android: Adding Variety on station details page leads to blank screen
Let me know.

Issue still not solved - add variety is simply not an option for any of my stations.

Hi @goonmotw
Welcome to community!
I checked a couple of stations on your account and didn't have any trouble adding variety through a web browser.
I'm happy to look into this further but I'll need more information.
Thanks for the help.
I am trying to add Wic Whitney to Honey Mango Sweet Tea. I’d also like to add Hind’s Hall to Macklemore station
@goonmotw You should be able to add variety to your Metal station:
Can you please send me a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end?
(Please note you won't be able to attach images via email - you will need to open this Community link in a web browser in order to provide attachments)
Thanks for working with me on this.

@Ratty I've passed your feedback along to our curation team regarding the artist Wic Whitney.
To clarify, are you also attempting to add this track to your Macklemore station?: HIND'S HALL
If so, you should be able to:
If you continue to run into issues with that, can you please send me a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end?

When using the “add variety” feature on a station in my collection, it is unable to pull up certain artists to select. In a search of Pandora, the artist can be found. Wondering why it is unable to find that artist in a search in the “add variety” feature?
@T-roy I moved your post over to this existing thread: Unable to Add Artists as Variety
What are the names of the artists you are unable to add as variety?
Let me know.
