Alexa: Receive "I cannot turn shuffle on for this stream" when trying to shuffle

before Pandora or Alexa update I don’t remember which one, just recently I never had a problem shuffling my Pandora stations now after the update my Pandora stations do not shuffle, and if they do it’s very seldom. The shuffle on Pandora on my iPhone now does the same. When saying the command "Alexa shuffle my Pandora stations" the response I get back is one of the two "I cannot turn shuffle on for this stream" or if l'm playing a specific station the response is "Shuffling Peter White radio on your Pandora stations" (for example) Can you please help me troubleshoot and bring back shuffling back to normal? I’m using a Amazon Show device and a iPhone Xs

To clarify, when you ask Alexa to shuffle your stations, it responds with "I cannot turn shuffle on your Pandora stations" and when you ask for it to play a specific station, it responds that it's shuffling the station?

I see that you have a recent connection with your Alexa device. Did un-linking and re-linking change your experience at all?

In the meantime, let's check on you Alexa Voice History. From the Alexa app from your mobile device:

1. Open the Alexa app.
2. Go to More (three lines).
3. Select Alexa Privacy > Review Voice History.
4. Choose a date range, device, or profile to view entries.

You’ll see what Alexa heard and can listen to a recording of your command. If Alexa didn’t respond correctly, give feedback using the thumbs-down option.

Thank you for responding. As you read my problem shuffle is not working on my Alexa device and my iPhone. The first part as you mentioned is correct. When I am on a specific station, for example Peter White station and I ask Alexa to shuffle my Pandora stations (which is all my Pandora stations) It responds   “I cannot turn on shuffle for this stream” or  “Peter White radio on Carlos Pandora shuffle”.  I’m using Alexa Show device with motion and remember my iPhone Xs is now doing the same. I checked my voice history on the Alexa settings.I’ve used every possible command to try to shuffle correctly, of course using the ones that used to work all the time , which is “Alexa shuffle my Pandora station.” Others commands that I have used to try to shuffle the deck stations are the following “shuffle all stations from Pandora,” “shuffle Carlos‘s Pandora stations” “ask Pandora to shuffle Carlos‘s stations”none are working.

Thanks for the follow up. Based on your replay, it sounds like Alexa heard and understood your voice command correctly, but is still not following through with the command. Be sure to report this issue through the Alexa Voice History with the thumb down option. This alerts Alexa's team that intended voice command did not work as expected. 

In the meantime, I've also passed your experience and details along to our engineering team for further review and investigation. While I don't have any specific troubleshooting steps that I believe would help now, I appreciate your patience. Thanks for posting your experience!
