I'm listening to the Stan Getz Radio channel on the Pandora Google TV app. On some tunes, one of the channels (the right, I think) is much weaker than the other, so, for example, the saxophone sounds like it's far off in the distance, while the rhythm section is at full volume. I think I've heard this on other channels as well. Has anyone else noticed this or know what's wrong?
Hi @BayouBill
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!
What you’re describing can sometimes come down to how older recordings were originally mixed. A lot of Stan Getz’s music was recorded in the late ’50s and ’60s, and during that time it wasn’t unusual for instruments to be more heavily separated between the left and right channels. On modern devices, that can make certain elements sound quieter or farther away on one side.
Pandora plays tracks as they were released, so we don’t adjust the channel balance. We do apply a standard volume normalization to try and keep songs at a consistent level, but that wouldn’t affect how audio is split between channels.
That said I’m happy to pass this along to the teams that look after our collection for a closer look and review of the station you mentioned to see if anything may be happening.
Thanks again for posting about this!

I wish that applied to the advertisements, but they are consistently louder than the music, which is really annoying.
