Pandora on Roku keeps wanting me to log in every time I start the app. When I try to use the code to log in I get an error page that says, "Server Error. We're sorry, but there has been an unexpected error with our server. Please try again, or visit the Pandora Home Page." When I use email and password, sometimes it works, sometimes not. This has only recently started happening. We've been listening to Pandora on Roku for years.
Thanks.
Moderator Edit: Changing title for clarity
I really hate to pit companies against each other as a means to effect change...but I gotta agree with this. Our listening habits have changed dramatically with this broken integration...plus no new features added to the app just to bring it to parity with the desktop app.
I still got the "server error" this morning. I can login on my smart Samsug TV which is ok, but I cannot repeat a song with that setup as I could with Roku. I have given some thought to moving on to Spotify if Pandora doesn't fix this.
Exact same issue here.
I may have found a solution (?). It's convoluted as hell, but...
1. As we've all tried, I attempted to log into the Pandora app on Roku by pairing/adding a device on my Roku mobile app. As we know thisdoes work - the user gets presented with a website/pairing error.
2. I instead logged into the Roku app with my desktop email and password. This worked!
3. However, as soon as I close out the Pandora app on Roku, I'm kicked out again....e.g. I'm logged out, and I need to either log in again or try and pair a device.
4. I relaunch the Pandora app on the Roku, and this time, I tried device pairing again with the code my Roku gives me on my mobile Roku app).
5. Success! Successful launching and logging in happens automagically, even after I close the Roku app.
I can only surmise that because I logged into the Roku app on my Roku successfully (for that brief moment in step #2), and *then* paired the Roku to my account, maybe the code was generated differently?
Anyway, good luck!
That does not work for me. I tried that just now and in the past. It says that roku is not providing the correct information.
I have tried all 3 methods multiple times, and it hasn't worked in months. Time to cancel Pandora.
Were you able to login to the Pandora Roku app with your desktop email and password?
Negative. I haven't been able to ever since we have all been having these issues.
Having the same issue. Issue first appeared a month or so ago. Eventually after a week or so it allowed me to pass through protocol on the Roku device and access my content. Issue reappeared a couple days ago. I've tried everything from activating device via ethernet computer or apple device. No luck. Tried removing channel and reinstalling. No luck. Tried restarting modem and router. No luck. Continually receive the following message; "Server Error - We're sorry, there has been an unexpected error with our server. Please try again, or visit the Pandora Home Page". Not having issue with other devices. Oddly this seems to be tied to the Roku Tv only. Tv software is updated. Wifi connection is 5g and very stable. Have had the service for years and just started prompting when opening Pandora on Roku with message "Unable to automatically sign in. Roku failed to provide required account information. Please log in using email and password." Unfortunately entering email and password doesn't solve the issue as aforementioned. Really would like some help on this topic as while I have other devices, I use Roku primarily for listening to Pandora due to my home theatre setup.
Well, here we are on 10-16-22 and the roku login problem still exists. Is anyone an Pandora/Roku working on this?
Same here. No info on what the update covered, but still no roku access to Pandora.
Pandora dropped the connection to my Roku and I can't get it to reconnect. My Roku's connection to my other streaming services is fine, so I know it's not the Roku or my TV. What I've already tried:
Am having the same issue, Pandora is working everywhere else except Roku. After trying the normal reset process multiple times to no avail I updated the Roku software, deleted and added back Pandora to Roku - when I hit step 3 of setup Roku on my PC and entered the Code it appears to take it then I get that Pandora is having a server error. I changed my password, tried the code process again, it failed, then tried logging in to Roku with name and new password and it took.. What a pain..
Hi there, @kschuett. 👋
Sorry for the continued trouble with this, and thanks for providing that info.. I moved your post over to this existing thread: Roku - Log in error
In the meantime, I've passed this along to the appropriate parties for further investigation. We'll follow up with you if we need any additional details.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime! 🎧
Its now working again, have no idea what changed.
ITs now working on my Roku TV , have no idea what changed.
If you are reporting success with the code approach, I am glad it is working for you. It did not work for me, so I tried the laborious email login and succeeded. Thanks for the alert, although, I don't know if it will last.
No special procedure, just removed Pandora from Roku back in September and just reinstalled. No updates that I know of.
I bought new Roku Device but can't access Pandora via TV. Error Message says Pandora's Server is having a problem. Pandora E-Mail assistance not helpful. Ideas?
